About this listen
Number-One Best Seller
She Cut My Heart Open....
I only meant to steal a car. I didn't know I was stealing a girl, too. Until the most gorgeous face I'd ever seen popped up in the rear-view mirror.
I fell hard, fast, and forever....
But she tore out my heart - left me alone and bleeding.
How can I forget her, when I have to see that damned perfect face on billboards and magazines?
It's torture.
Nine long years. I thought I moved on.
Then I saw her in the flesh....
And my heart started bleeding all over again....
Bloody Heart is the angst-ridden fourth installment in the Brutal Birthright series. It's a stand-alone second chance mafia romance, with a HEA and no cliffhanger. Contains steamy scenes.
The Lark Notes:
At long last, Dante's story! I know you guys were the most excited for this one. It's my longest book yet - epic in story, timescale, heartbreak, and angst. And epically spicy too - be warned! There's a scene with a belt that had me dragging Mr. Lark into my writing room. As an added bonus, you'll meet Raylan, who will return as the hero of Broken Vow. --Sophie

Amazing
I’m so happy Dante gets his second chance at love it’s nice seeing him happy and not grumpy . This is the 4th book in this series and I’m looking forward to the next book we meet Raylan in this book and it looks like sparks will fly between him and Riona.

Enjoyed it
I enjoyed this a lot. The story kept moving along nicely and kept me interested all the way through. Josie Kunz and Alan Carlson do a great job bringing the story and the characters to life. I would happily spend more time with these characters.

Finally Dante’s story
Dante Gallo is the oldest son and brother of the family in previous books it had been mentioned that he loved and lost but we never knew the woman responsible. Simone is a young woman with family obligations that wants a career as a fashion designer. They meet under crazy circumstances and hit it off. He’s older she is naive and she lets her parents run over her. What her parents do to her is heart wrenching and changes a person for life. I loved delving into their story in the past. The present storyline with the villain was kind of weak.

Brilliant
I'd already ready the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. However I do find the audible versions particularly enjoyable. Listening to a beloved story come to life is rewarding and I find it almost cathartic as I drifted into this emotive world of Dante and Simone. Brilliant, simply brilliant

Loved it!
Another captivating story in the Brutal Birthright series! I love Dante and Simone's story. It was angsty, emotional, and intense. Their chemistry was hot and the sex was steamy. It kept me on the edge of my seat from the beginning all the way until the very end. If you love mafia romance or second chance romance, then you should definitely check out Bloody Heart. Alan Carlson and Josie Kunz both did an amazing job bringing this story to life.

glad we got Dante's story
I'm enjoying this series and the books are well worth the credits spent. the only niggle I have with this book is (spoiler coming up) I the fact her parents were able to take the baby from the hospital. UK maternity wards would not let her sister or parents walk out with the baby without her knowing about. that bit of the story just got on my nerves a bit. other than that it was a great addition to the series. the narration was great but I thought Alan Carlson did a fantastic job.

Might be the best meet cute ever
Finally I'm back in the BB world. With Dante and Simone. Now there are a couple of characters in this that don't behave exactly as they should. One of those is Simone for sure. I mean I can see it a wee bit, but still, not even a wee bit of a grovel?? That said Dante and Simone have that soulmate level love that I can barely even comprehend and I love that for them. I enjoyed seeing past and present Griffin's and Gallo's even someone (or two Someone's) from books to come. A solid read.

Love Dante!
First, let me say while this book stands alone, you definitely want to have listened to the first three books in this series. They are all amazing listens, and you don't want to miss them. Now, this book is intricate and exciting. Fate brings Dante and Simone together the first time when they are young adults. First real love for both, these two are pulled apart by misunderstanding and family disapproval. Now 9 years later, they are back together, again by fate, but things are much different now. Will it make a difference? Does their love stand the test of time? Will this second chance be what they need? Dante is a broody, alpha male, and I love how Sophie Lark layers his personality. His complexity is what drew me to him, and it created a realistic feel to his persona. Simone was a good woman, but at times, I found her weak. As she matures, she definitely gets a backbone, and it made her more endearing to me. Action and thrills take us through some unexpected twists and turns as we get to see how this all plays out. It's a little angsty, a little suspenseful and extremely passionate. Another winner for my ears!
Alan Carlson and Josie Kunz deliver an amazing performance. I absolutely love Carlson's voice. He has a little growl to him at times and he creates his character with all the layers. He pulls them apart as the story progresses and makes Dante real. This is my first time hearing Kunz, and I enjoyed her voice! She has a young adult sound that she is able to mature as Simone grows, and it adds that flair of authenticity. It's a fantastic listen.
