Summary

Tom Keeler was done with Alaska, but Alaska wasn’t done with him.

After four months working a fishing boat he’s on his way to a permanent vacation. All he wants is to get back to that girl in Seattle, but there are men following him, which doesn’t make much sense.

Jane Abrams just got to Alaska and she’s got big problems. Her son has gone missing and the police won’t help. She wants Keeler’s assistance but he’s got other plans.

But, when the people pushing Abrams around step over the line, Keeler gets both interested and curious.

They thought that owning the town gave them special privileges. But they never planned on coming up against Tom Keeler.

Right up there with Lee Child

Various reviews have mentioned the similarities with Jack Reacher and there are some however, the trope of the wondering guy getting involved to help out has been around a long time - Clint Eastwood's 'man with no name'.

The narration by Jeff Harding does add to the sense of similarity. But try and put that aside and enjoy a rollicking, involving story featuring a likeable character.

It's Reacher!

How did Jack Lively get away with his Tom Keeler character? it's obviously a straight rip off if Jack Reacher. His manner, the way he speaks, his military career all copycats. The narrator Jeff Harding is the same as reads the Reacher books, even the book is titled Breacher.
Maybe Jack Lively is a pseudonym for Lee Child's.
Still good fun though

Erm... what even happened

I'll start by saying the narrator is my favourite and it's the main reason I got this book. the story was just so disjointed and felt like it didn't have any roots at all. it jumped from one idea to another so I ended up not having a clue what really happened. sorry, I tried

Clone of Reacher

More snappy dialog but less cohesive plot or characterisation than Lee Child. Fine as it goes but not rushing to listen to more.
