A student health coach
I’m studying to be a health coach so many of the example of office managers were not relevant examples to me, however the book as a whole was a useful quick listen for many coaching tips.

Great little coaching book.
Good book, particularly for me being new to coaching. Some good practical examples of the application of coaching conversations. When coaching I’d appropriate and when a more directive style might be necessary. Suited to managers who use coaching as part of their day to day role.

Useless
After being recommended the author's books as recommended reading as a star coach for a training course, I had high expectations.
At the middle point of the book, I was switched off. The narration is bland and lifeless; it does nothing to bring the words to life or give confidence or conviction in what is trying to be taught.
So, what is trying to be taught?
Nothing you won't already know if you are aware of the most basic listening skills, for that's what this book attempts to define (again and again and again).
i suppose it's a core concept for good coaching but it's not exactly detailed in any regard and does a very poor (well, bordering nonexistent) attempt at skills teaching outside of this.
Your credits are best spent elsewhere for coaching.

Useful tips
Useful insights but I struggled to stay focused as the narration could have been better. Not very inspirational.
