Great listen
Whilst I can understand some reviews comments about Burt’s voice / dialogue and it being a little difficult to hear it certainly doesn’t spoil what is a great listen. You can hear a lot of emotion in his voice at times and it must have been cathartic doing this. When listening I was saddened to see Burt had died some 3 yrs ago you always feel like these stars will live forever I highly recommend

You can’t beat a good life story read by the author...
.. and this is no exception. Some fantastic stories about some of Hollywood’s biggest names all told by Burt himself. And when the author is telling his own story, you are usually awarded with that little bit of emotion that can only be added by those who took part. Brilliant and also emotional. Burt didn’t sound like he was in the best of health narrating this book. It’s almost like his last goodbye. Highly recommended. Brilliant book.

A very difficult listen.
Not because of the subject matter but because of his delivery. He mumbles, whispers and grumbles. I'd recommend playing it on a faster speed and not being too invested. I believe he was on death's door when he recorded it. Basically, he sometimes has a fight and did some acting. Buy it!

There will never be enough about Burt
I would recommend this audible book to everyone. The fact that Burt is the narrator adds extra poignant moments that only he can recall with tears like falling in love with his soul mate, Dinah Shore. If I could rate this book 10 stars I would. We all miss you Burt and thank you for everything - a true gift of humanity to the world.

emotional
I'm glad it was Burt that narrated this. At times burt gets quite emotional & sounds like he's in tears. I doubt I would have felt that if some one else narrated it, or if I actually read it. I t was great to hear some insights into some of the movies I've watched over the years and into some of the hollywood greats

The life of a legend
Yes I agree with some of the other reviews, it was hard to understand Burt in some places as his speech was slow and slurred, but in places it actually added to the emotion of his stories.
I really enjoyed this and the way each chapter was about an individual or area of his life.
I bought the paperback as well for the photos and now want to sit and watch all his movies again. RIP Burt x

Great to discover more about the real Burt Reynolds
Wonderful to gain a deeper appreciation of the life of someone who was a childhood hero to so many out there, myself included.
Full of true emotions, read straight from the horses mouth, in some moments it resembled sitting down and listening to his stories in person.
My only advice is, listen to it at 1.25 speed. It created a slightly younger Burt I could better connect with.
Feeling nostalgic and grateful at the end.
Enjoy fellow readers/listeners!
