Story
When the great red star Calamity appeared in the sky, some believed the end had come. They were right. Calamity created the Epics: humans with incredible powers they didn't deserve. They could have saved mankind. They could have lifted us into harmony and prosperity. Instead they burned. They slaughtered. They conquered. And then they ruled. Jax has learned all of this the hard way. Orphaned at an early age, he's spent most of his childhood training to be a Reckoner - determined to find the Epics' weaknesses, unlock their secrets, and protect those of us who are still left.

Story
Defeated, crushed, and driven almost to extinction, the remnants of the human race is trapped on a planet that is constantly attacked by mysterious alien starfighters. Spensa, a teenage girl living among them, longs to be a pilot. When she discovers the wreckage of an ancient ship, she realizes this dream might be possible - assuming she can repair the ship, navigate flight school, and (perhaps most importantly) persuade the strange machine to help her. Because this ship, uniquely, appears to have a soul.

Story
According to mythology, mankind used to live in 'The Tranquiline Halls': heaven. But then the Voidbringers assaulted and captured heaven, casting out God and men. Men took root on Roshar, the world of storms, but the Voidbringers followed. The Almighty gave men powerful suits of armor and mystical weapons, the Shardblades. Led by 10 angelic Heralds and 10 orders of knights known as Radiants, mankind finally won (or so the legends say).

Stephen Leeds is schizophrenic (...probably...) and he's in demand. But not for his own skills - his clients want to tap in to the imaginary experts that populate his mind - and it's getting a bit crowded in there. One of his many 'aspects' is a trained soldier, another a psychological expert; a third is a librarian, and all of them want to help him solve problems, making him an exceptionally versatile intelligence agent. If you need a stolen corpse retrieved or a missing inventor found, Stephen Leeds is the man - or, rather, the team - for the job.

The Mistborn trilogy has become a firm favourite with fantasy fans the world over. The imagination that Sanderson brought to the series, his skill at marshalling epic storylines and dramatic action and his ability to create vivid characters made him a natural choice to complete Robert Jordan's epic Wheel of Time sequence. But with Mistborn, Sanderson has shown his bountiful talents in his own fiction.

Story
One of Jane Austen’s most beloved works, Pride and Prejudice, is vividly brought to life by Academy Award nominee Rosamund Pike ( Gone Girl). In her bright and energetic performance of this British classic, she expertly captures Austen’s signature wit and tone. Her attention to detail, her literary background, and her performance in the 2005 feature film version of the novel provide the perfect foundation from which to convey the story of Elizabeth Bennet, her four sisters, and the inimitable Mr. Darcy.

When a huge alien spacecraft crashes on the island of Cuba, the world scrambles to investigate. Secretive organizations have waited for generations for this opportunity, and they do not hesitate to send in recovery teams. Naturally, the Cubans have beaten everyone else, and the island is beginning to change. Aircraft flying reconnaissance are swatted from the skies.
Summary
They told David it was impossible - that even the Reckoners had never killed a High Epic. Yet Steelheart - invincible, immortal, unconquerable - is dead. And he died by David's hand.
Eliminating Steelheart was supposed to make life more simple. Instead it only made David realize he has questions. Big ones. And there's no one in Newcago who can give him the answers he needs. He found some of those answers in Firefight. Now he has to decide what to do with them....
Calamity is about what you do to fill your heart once you have vengeance.

Good conclusion
What can I say..... it's a good wrap up to the trilogy. Nothing hugely "epic", but everything is in keeping with the previous books, and the outcome is satisfying if not unexpected. Some good character development, and all's well that ends well. (naturally, a little twist towards the end that is typical of Sanderson, but it all still hangs together appropriately).
Not sure how much more there was to develop in this series, so probably right that it ends here.

amazing
I love sanderson so I may be biased but this latest novel from the reckoners trilogy is fitting way to end the series. I don't usually leave reviews, especially with a title like this that will doubtless have more then enough feedback to encourage others to dive on in. but having just finished listening I'm moved to comment on the fluidity of writing here and masterful performance from the narrator. in David, sanderson has created a truly unique character. one who stands apart from any leading character I can remember from other books I've read.

Really came together at the very end
Wow, did not expect calamity turning out to be ... Well lets just say did not expect that. The story was as no where as engaging as the first two but still it was fun listening to performance bringing the character and events to life. To be honest through out you'd think there is no way the author can explain calamity and all the other story unexplained anomalies. However, the author managed to tie everything neatly and satisfactorily at the end. I still would love another sequel although i doubt there will be.

Disappointing end to the trilogy
I really enjoyed the first two in the trilogy (and the Mistborn series). However, I felt Calamity stretched the canon past breaking point, it just didn't feel realistic (which I know may seem an odd comment considering Brandon Sanderson's skill for redefining the laws of physics). Plus some of the threads from the previous two books seemed to be simply overlooked.

after everything...nothing
If the main character had super powers it would include Deus ex machina and groundless amounts of plot armour. not sure what it is about authors not pulling the trigger when they build insurmountable odds for heroes, but sometimes the best story is where Batman gets his back broken.

So so !
Don’t get me wrong, Brandon Sanderson is an excellent writer but this trilogy was a waste of time for me, if I was much younger like fifteen then it would have been perfect but I’m not and this trilogy is way too childish for me.
So yes I do recommend this trilogy for young adults only.

Not as 'epic' ;) as Sanderson's Mistborn but a great tale, characters with real depth and almost tangible emotions.
