Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

Veronica McCreedy returns in the delightfully feel-good new audiobook from the number one best-selling author of Away with the Penguins - sure to become a firm favourite with listeners!

Meet the heroine everyone's talking about....

Fiercely resilient and impeccably dressed, Veronica McCreedy has lived an incredible 87 years. Most of them alone, in her huge house by the sea.

But Veronica has recently discovered a late-life love for family and friendship, adventure and wildlife.

More specifically, a love for penguins!

And so when she's invited to co-present a wildlife documentary, far away in the southern hemisphere, she jumps at the chance.

Even though it will put her in the spotlight, just when she thought she would soon fade into the wings.

Perhaps it's never too late to shine?

Great reading. As soon as I finished Away with the Penguins, I immediately ordered Call of the Penguins. Both superb.

Easy listening but preferred first one

It was easy to listen to and I love Nicolette Mackenzie narrating but apart from the story of Patrick’s dad not a lot happened in this one. Was expecting a bit more but it was a nice easy listen especially with the times we live in

Absolutely Fabulous

I adored this book, the sequel to Away with the Penguins. The characters are so lovely, the story follows on brilliantly, and I love the educational aspect about wildlife, penguins and plastic. There really is something for everyone, from a wonderfully mature and adventurous Veronica, to Patrick and Terry, and little Daisy. The themes explored are so resonant. I hope so much Hazel may write a third! Totally Recommend this wonderful story.
