About this listen
When you have difficulties managing your emotions, it can feel like you're losing control of your whole life. Anger, hurt, grief, worry, and other intense feelings can be overwhelming, and how you react to these emotions can impact your ability to maintain relationships, succeed at work, or even think straight! If you find it difficult to understand, express, and process intense emotions - and most of us do - this book is for you.
Calming the Emotional Storm is your guide to coping with difficult emotions calmly and responsibly by using powerful skills from dialectical behavior therapy. This method combines cognitive behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices to change the way you respond to stressful situations. By practicing these skills, you can stop needless emotional suffering and develop the inner resilience that will help you weather any emotional storm.

recommended for anyone who struggles...
I suffer from severe atypical depression, anxiety and I have attention deficit disorder, this book is really helpful. Combining mindfulness and DBT with meds can really do the job. remember - right medication and lots of changes in thinking, you can do it and start being happy again! But please don't neglect any of the aspects. Release yourself from your ego, embrace everything you feel and experience. good luck to everyone who are still fighting <3

Terrible
This audio book stops at 3 minutes. Does not continue playing so a pointless purchase. This is why a regular paper book is better. If someone is able to advise me on how to sort this problem out, please advise me.

basic... at best
Very little on actual skills teaching, vignettes, evidence bases, case studies. Repetitive... really repetitive and blaringly obvious and oversimplified in its approach. couldn't stand the emotionless, robotic narrator either.
As a therapist looking into training in DBT, I got nothing out of it and I can imagine this audiobook would verge on insulting client intelligence, too.
