I learned a lot

As someone whose mother had dementia, now she's gone I wanted to understand some of the reasons behind some of the interactions we had had, which I believe will help to keep the memory alive. This book does a very good job of breaking down dementia and alzheimer's, and it gave me a lot of the answers I was looking for. Thoroughly recommend.

Useful knowledge for everyone

This book is full of useful knowledge for anyone dealing with this horrible disease. As we and our parents age, this is becoming all too common to have to deal with. The disease-specific portions like how to cope with the diagnosis, what to expect as it progresses, and how to deal with hospice care is useful but the portions about finances, legal matters, and how to cope with the stress of being a caregiver are essentially universal. If you have aging parents or family, you could get a lot out of this even if they do not suffer from dementia/Alzheimer's.

Great for dementia caregivers

Having recently managed my nans dementia diagnosis, we really needed extra advice regarding what to do next because the choices are overpowering and scary at first. This audio was brilliant at holding our hands through all the important steps that would ultimately save us time, energy and money from making mistakes along the way and our nans comfort was the most important part of that. The biggest chapter for us was chapter 5 - how to find care for our nan that was appropriate for her. We struggled to understand whether we look after her or whether she needed supervised care. This chapter was vital in giving us the strength and confidence to make the right choice for her wellbeing. A must-listen audio for any caregiver going through this with a loved one.
