Summary
Includes an exclusive letter to the listener read by Carole Matthews herself!
Indulge in this lovely, cake-filled novel of romance and friendship. Christmas Cakes and Mistletoe Nights is top three Sunday Times best-selling Carole Matthews at her heart-warming best!
Fay and Danny are madly in love, and it's all Fay's ever dreamed of. But she left everything - including the delightful cake shop she used to run - to be with Danny on his cosy canal boat, The Dreamcatcher. And as she soon finds out, making delicious cakes on the water isn't always smooth sailing!
Then Fay gets a call from her friends, a call that sends her back to her friends and the Cake Shop in the Garden. It will be hard being away from Danny, but their relationship is strong enough to survive...isn't it?
Fay soon falls happily back in love with her passion for baking - especially now she's on dry land again! - and starts to wonder if she ever should have left. With Christmas around the corner, Fay is determined that her friends will have a very merry time, but does that mean even more time away from Danny? Can Fay really get everything she ever wanted in Christmas Cakes and Mistletoe Nights?

Spoiled by the narrator
I have to agree with Hazel Dunfermline who said that the wrong narrator read this story; she was an excellent narrator but sounded too old and potentially too 'posh' for the main character which detracted from the enjoyment of listening to it.
Carole Matthews always writes an entertaining story and this was no exception.

Terrible narration
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
The narration was terrible and the voice was too old for the part. Painful to listen to and spoilt the story.
If you’ve listened to books by Carole Matthews before, how does this one compare?
The story was lovely but spoilt by the narration.
Would you be willing to try another one of Jilly Bond’s performances?

Exquisite characters
Rich and believable story, easy to listen to. The characters are colourful and take you into a wonderful ‘hug’ of positivity away from the stress of the everyday…

Wrong narrator
Usual sweet story from carole Matthews, but narration style and voice sounded too old and didn't fit the character
