Summary
Return to the Cornish Café in this gorgeous, festive romance - the perfect book to curl up with this Christmas.
Christmas will be slightly less turbulent than summer, won't it? Demi certainly hopes so.
She and Cal are keeping their fledgling relationship under wraps for now. But then Kit Bannen, a hunky, blond - and somewhat mysterious - writer arrives at Kilhallon Resort, and not everyone is charmed. Cal is sure that Kit is hiding something. But is he the only one guarding a secret?
Demi is busy baking festive treats for the newly opened Demelza's café, but when Cal's ex Isla arrives to shoot scenes for her new drama, Demi can't help but worry that things aren't quite over between them. Kit flirts with both women, fuelling Cal's suspicions that Kit has hidden motives for staying on at Kilhallon. Then Cal has to go to London, leaving Demi and Kit to decorate the cafe for Christmas...all by themselves.
A storm is brewing in more ways than one. As surprises unfold and truths are uncovered, can Demi and Cal finally open up to each other about their feelings?

Great Book
I love Phillipa Ashley and have thoroughly enjoyed everything I have read/listened to, this, 2nd in the series, being no exception. A great story and the latest in the Kal and Demi saga.
However, who on earth decided this narrator was suitable?
Truly the most boring and monotone narration ever. Unless you hear the title of each chapter, you will have no clue as to who is speaking. Absolutely no difference between one character or another, male or female with the sole exception of "Bev the Rev" depicted by her awful Birmingham accent.
If you have the choice, better you read this book rather than listen.
I will never listen to this narrator again, unless of course she gets an injection of personality!

A great story
This book has it all, drama, romance, sorrow and laughter. It is a great continuation of Demi and cals story. I enjoyed it better than summer at the Cornish Cafe.
The only problem I had with the narrator, the character changes between male and female. I often had to rewind 30 seconds to make sure of whoever is speaking. But she is a delight on the ears. Her voice is lovely.
Overall I would recommend this book.

And it was going so well....
I enjoyed Book 1, but couldn’t finish this one. I got most of the way through before the constant anger and arguing got under my skin. Personally, I need some joy spread amongst the strife to make a balanced story. This book became one argument after another, which was wearing me out. Then, came the breaking point.
After saying a particularly nasty bit to Demi, Cal says, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it. YOU MADE ME SAY THAT TO YOU.” And that’s when Cal became a classic abusive, toxic person. That is a telltale sign of an abusive relationship . It’s an abuser’s excuse. I can’t - and won’t - hang with that.

Good story, but...
Though I enjoyed the narrator’s voice, I had a hard time following who was talking because her voice didn’t change between characters for the most part.
