About this listen

Elizabeth Bennet's world is imperiled by the unjust entail which looms over her beloved family estate, Longbourn. Her father's ailing health only exacerbates the urgency of their predicament. Determined to ensure that the odious Rev William Collins never inherits her home, Elizabeth embarks on a courageous journey to end the entail once and for all.

Fitzwilliam Darcy, an arrogant scion of wealthy lineage, accompanies his rich tradesman friend, Charles Bingley, to survey the Netherfield estate. Caroline Bingley, a woman of calculated ambition, sees Darcy as the ultimate prize. Her plans are threatened, however, when Bingley becomes captivated by the gentle Jane Bennet. Caroline's jealousy and resentment know no bounds.

Darcy finds himself irresistibly drawn to the spirited and independent-minded Elizabeth Bennet. As their paths intertwine, Darcy’s conviction that she is beneath him in fortune, connections, and station, is challenged by her character and wit. Charles Bingley, deceived by his conniving sister, must overcome societal expectations, and find the courage to follow his heart.

Elizabeth's audacious hope to thwart Collins and preserve Longbourn for her family leads her to an unexpected ally, and perhaps even love, amidst the chaos. Darcy and Bingley must confront their own shortcomings and reassess what truly matters in life.

Good dialogue

This is a very good variation with believable dialogue and an engaging plot line. Some characters deviated quite a lot from form but ODC were true enough. Caroline’s ending I found to be too cruel a punishment for her misdeeds.

Creative new takes!

The narrator, as always, does an amazing job! The story is long, always interesting and keeps on developing. I like that there are some new creative takes on the characters. Elizabeth Bennet is also true to her nature, impertinent och witty. I sometimes find that fanfiction make het a bit like Jane. Great story and I’m sad it’s over.

The extra mileage was a treat!

I thoroughly enjoyed this version. Many satisfying endings for characters who are the less attractive and as always a superb delivery by this reader

Interesting Variation ❣️

Well written, well paced until the end which felt rushed and required several more chapters. Stevie Zimmerman’s narration was perfection as always. I recommend.

Fabulous

Fast paced, interesting with lots of content. I absolutely loved this book & would thoroughly recommend it. Nice to see one of these tales be a little bolder.
Stevie Zimmerman was excellent as always.

Entertaining variation

There is much to enjoy in this variation of Pride and Prejudice. The audiobook narration is excellent. I do have some reservations about how very dark the William Collins character is shown to be here, and that aspect did not sit right or ring true. Overall, the book is enjoyable, however.

Great story

Really enjoyed this version of P&P. Really nasty Mr Collins made me squirm. Highly recommend.

Plot was hit and miss

I was quite sold on the plot until Caroline Bingley's London sojourn and subsequent marriage. It was quite ridiculous as was Mr Collins's behaviour in Rosing's parish.

stevie zimmerman as always is good

nothing about the story highlighted lizzie as clever she was unremitting slow witted and obstinant in missing any of Darcys change in behaviour and sentiment. was a very long story where several times it felt like she had learnt more about him then felt like the author felt she needed to cling to old bits of text from the original which showed she'd learnt nothing. only reason I finished the story was stevie zimmerman and hoping for a eventual resolution. disappointed.
