Summary

James Bond is on a mission that will become an obsession. It starts the night Flight 229 is torn apart at Washington airport, killing 435 passengers. But the victim who matters to Bond is the Principessa Sukie Tempesta: once his lover, still his friend.

The search for Sukie's killers will turn out to be the most complex and demanding assignment of Bond's career. Across continents and through ever-changing labyrinths of evil, he follows the traces of clues into the center of a fanatical society more deadly than any terrorist army. Its code name is COLD.

These are now boaring

I set myself the challenge of reading every James Bond novel. Having worked through Ian Fleming novels and colonel son. I am now working through these ones by John Gardner. Unfortunately I am now finding these very boring. Most order on soft porn with very poor story lines which are predictable. I will finish my challenge as soon as I can change this author it will be better.

The weakest entry.

The weakest offering in the collection thus far. Alas, it was unimaginative and boring. Bond should never be boring.

Antifreeze!

John Gardener's last Bond novel is a suitable end to a great run. The story is compelling, fast paced, and with some great twists. Yes there are some plot holes, and the ending feels a bit rushed (as do most of Gardener's endings to be fair) but it's still a classic Bond story. Simon vance is, as ever, superb in his narration.
