Wow!! Best ST audio-book I've ever listened to!
This really is a cut above most Star Trek novels. The story is utterly compelling, with amazingly well-drawn and fadcinating characters. You know the author must be something special if they can make Nausicaans seem sympathetic, and world-build them a believable and fascinating culture and back-story. I'm going to go back and find other David Mack ST novels because he's clearly an exceptionally talented author. I'm thinking back to the Garak novel, a Stitch in Time, for the last time I found one so compelling. Narration was excellent, as is always the case with Petkoff.

Excellent
This is my favourite of the Star Trek audiobooks so far, and I've listened to many! I'm on my 2nd listening of this one.
David Mack's writing is great, I especially appreciated the character of agent O'Connor, I really enjoyed the injection of some humour into the story via this lovable rogue. I'd love to see him return in future novels. Like his character, several elements of the story focus on 'grey areas' of morality and are a thought provoking break from any 'good vs. evil' over-simplification.
Robert Petkoff does an awesome job as always of the character's voices, his skills are second to none.

A bit of a detour
Not much focus on primary tng characters, except for the second to last chapter. It's worth a listen, it's not quite the camaraderie I was expecting between the characters - the characters don't come off the pages to fill my brain with a 4d picture.
Not sure what will be my next listen!

A bit underwhelmed
I am a huge Trek fan and TNG is my favourite Trek, so I was delighted to get the chance of listening to these newer Enterprise-E stories. Unfortunately I wasn't really feeling it and ended up a bit disappointed with this one. I guess if you're looking to recapture some of that 80s and 90s TNG nostalgia then this isn't the book to do it. I really missed the Enterprise-D crew here, and while Picard was the main focus, Worf, La Forge and Dr Crusher were barely featured. That being said, I really enjoyed the narration by Robert Petkoff who was his usual fantastic self!

Brilliant and Spectacular Audiobook!!
The story of this audiobook is fabulous and original. The narrator was wonderful and sublime. His narration were clear, audible and easy to follow. Voices of the characters were done in a superb manner. I really enjoyed this Star Trek audiobook. The story was compelling to listen to and I was engrossed in the drama of this Sci Fi tale. It was well worth the 12 hrs approx duration of this audiobook. Robert Petkoff is an excellent narrator. David Mack is a fantastic Star Trek writer.

A Great Book to jump back into Star Trek
David Mack is one of the best writers for Star Trek books and this is no different.
I'll admit to being a little skeptical of jumping into an audiobook this far along in the timeline of Star Trek. I was worried that I couldn't understand what was going on and who the main players were now. BUT I was wrong. I did pick up this one because it was Captain Picard centric and I'm looking forward to the new series coming out in January 2020.
A lot of the characters are new but I felt like I got to know them right away. And a quite a few were ones that we had previously seen on The Next Generation (and Voyager). The plot was dependent on earlier books with a focus on Tezwa and the then Federation President but the author gives you enough information to understand the events that are happening and you can then focus on the present moment and what IS actually going on.
The narrator is also excellent - having done quite a few Star Trek books prior - so that made listening comfortable and interesting as he did plenty of modulation with his voice to distinguish between characters.
All in all this was an excellent adventure and I know feel like I can jump back into the Next Generation timeline and enjoy more books in this range as long as Simon & Shuster and Audible continue to offer them!

It was OK but not great.
This was the first time I’ve read a Star Trek fiction book. The story line is akin to an average episode of TNG. Once the story gets going it is enjoyable but it does take time to get there.
The narrator does a really fantastic job. The voicing of the characters is very lively and it really helps make the story “Engaging“ (pun intended)
I may come back to the story at some point but maybe not. It is worth a listen in my opinion.

Very good book!!!
This is a very good book, it's also very much a PG-13 book. Also, the CODA books are garbage they don't fit in with these Trek books, don't waste your time with them they. Coda is a different timeline to me because it's so BAD!!!
