Summary

There was no reason to assume anything out of the ordinary was going on.

Strange noises in the apartment. Impulsive behaviour. Intense dreams.

It wasn't like everything went wrong all at once. Shoplifting. Fighting. Blackouts. There must be a reasonable explanation for all this.

surprisingly engaging

I wouldn't call this scary, though it deals with frightening topics. There's more of a sense of dread at various points, when your mind runs ahead of the narrative with, "I REALLY hope she's not going to do what I think she is about to do. " I found the main character very engaging, and the narrator was terrific.

Fine

Entertaining enough to keep me working through it but it was very predictable the whole way through and rarely did anything outside of what was expected

Beautiful, Harrowing and Haunting

An incredible POV story of a woman losing her battle with possession and the fallout it causes. Full of dread and terror, beautifully told and narrated.

Quick and unsettling read!

A fast read about Amanda who is spiralling out of control through demonic possession. Delusions and confusions a plenty. A lot happens and it never feels rushed. Short and creepy.

Loved the story, not what I expected

I had no idea what the book was about, I'd only ever read City of the Dead before this. So was gripping to read through the book taking the twists and turns along with the characters.
Well worth a read / listen

Short, sweet but middle of the road.

I enjoyed it, it made for an easy listen but it’s difficult to write a review because nothing jumps out at me as either particularly positive or negative.
If you’re a fan of books that have darker subject matters, I’d say go for it.

Dull and predictable

Not sure what the point of the majority of this is. Even though it’s a short story, it could have been so much shorter - once the ‘mystery’ is revealed the rest is inevitable. There’s no satisfying motives for the protagonist and no interesting layers of meaning. I kept listening hoping for a twist but sadly it ended as the first 20 minutes suggested it would. Repetitive descriptions and events.

Average story and narration

It was well written enough that I finished it, but also finished it thinking if this can get published, surely I could get a book published.

Narrators voice for the main character was good, but not good for the male character and lacked the frustration I think he felt during certain parts.

Creepy, in a good way

This one got underneath my skin. Awesome pacing. It's a bit predictable but still delivers a great story. Leaves you questioning yourself.

claustrophobic and well written

I really enjoyed listening to this, the struggle the main character felt was palpable!

an interesting take on possession!
