About this listen
Skylar Lawrence is the quiet sister. The one that doesn’t need to be the center of attention. The one who wants happiness above all else. She’s been content to stay in the background and support her sisters as their stars shine bright.
She internalizes her struggles. The lingering pain of losing her father, followed by the ending of her relationship with the man she thought was her forever.
For the first time in a year, she meets a man that intrigues her. A sexy stranger that seems as affected by her as she is by him. She gives in to her desires, only to find out moments later that he’s about to become her professional enemy.
They battle for the most coveted project in the industry. Their passion on the battlefield threatens to bleed from the boardroom to the bedroom. Constantly teetering on that fine edge until it becomes too much for both of them.
Has she finally met the perfect man? The man who both showers her with adoration and supports her eccentric fantasies. Perhaps she’ll get her HEA, just like her sisters. That’s until the past comes back to threaten their future.

Great start to the series!
AK Landow gives a spicy story for Skylar as the quiet Lawrence finds her way. She is taken by surprise when her boyfriend of 4 years decides to break it off with her instead of a long distance relationship and his reasons tear her apart. Now a year later, she finally finds one man that lights a fire inside her. Lance is up and coming. Breaking away from his stifling family, he moves to the city and with the help of his aunt, secures a job that will not only help pay for his college tuition, but catapult him to success. When Lance and Sky meet, the chemistry is palpable, off the charts explosive. Little did they know they would end up working together! When pushed into close proximity, would the magic still be there? And how would it effect their working relationship? This steamy story is packed with family eavesdropping and advice, learning to trust and dealing with life as it comes. It has humor that had me laughing out loud and scenes that even made me blush! It's the perfect mix of life and love and is a great listen.
Heather Firth and Jeremy York deliver a fabulous narration. Firth find the rhythm of Skylar as she navigates her pain and new found self. Each path is filled with emotional impact and her alluring voice pulls Lance in with ease! Jeremy York has the most sensual voice and as Lance he shines. From the scenes with his parents where he is frustrated, to his fun with Sky, York gives feeling to each scene and pulled me in! This team is a fantastic pairing and the listen is wonderful.

A city girl and a country boy fall in love? Sign me up!
Skylar Lawrence is the quiet sister. The one that doesn’t need to be the center of attention. The one who wants happiness above all else. She’s been content to stay in the background and support her sisters as their stars shine bright. She internalizes her struggles. She struggles even more due to the lingering pain of losing her father. After a bad breakup, she feels even more vulnerable. After a year of struggling, she meets Lance, a sexy stranger. They immediately hit it off, only to find out they are to battle it out for the most coveted project in their industry. Will they be able to resist each other, or can they get their HEA? This is all complicated further when something from Skylar’s resurfaces.
I really enjoyed this opposites-attract love story. Skylar and Lance come from completely different worlds; a city girl and a country boy. Even the way they were raised, and their family dynamics are so very different. They find love through their mutual love of astronomy and kinks.
This book was everything! I really loved how the author dove into the story and the characters. So much was explored, from their back and forths at work. To their backstories and what really makes them who they are. There was so much emotional depth, as well as enough banter and fun when needed. I especially fell in love with Lance and his gentlemanly ways (and slight dominance behind closed doors). This was overall an emotional, yet fun read! Loved it!
The narration was just chef’s kiss 🤌💋 ! Narrated by Heather Firth and Jeremy York, both were perfection! They were both able to capture the characters’ personalities perfectly! Firth did excellent at capturing the strong, fierce, yet vulnerable personality of Skylar. York was also amazing at portraying the kind, nerdy country boy, and at times, dominant Lance. Their voice really fitted the characters. Both were able to bring out all the emotions that the characters were feeling throughout the book. An absolute pleasure to listen to! I highly recommend!

Lance & Skylar
Skylar and Lance were perfection. I love that he was the innocent, inexperienced one in the relationship. This story was funny, sweet and swoony.
Heather Firth and Jeremy York were fantastic bringing these two to life. Can’t wait for the next book and will definitely go back to read or listen all the previous books to get the full experience.

Such a well balanced listen
Audiobook review: Narrated by Heather Firth and Jeremy York
4.5 stars for story / 5 stars for performance
This is my first AK Landow book but it is not going to be my last. While this book is book one of a new series, it was obvious that it took place in the same world as previous stories. There is a whole family intertwined with our main characters that are coupled up in what I can only imagine are some very good previous stories by this author. The side characters alone would make this book an excellent one, but our main characters really already sealed that deal. Skylar and Lance are fire together, literally from the moment they meet. There is a bit of a power imbalance between the two, with Skylar very set in her career and family whereas Lance is just starting out in both. He is new to city life and hasn't spent much time with this part of the family so he's acclimating to both. After an explosive first meeting and their subsequent meet up as competitors at work, their relationship grows quickly. They are equal parts sweet and super spicy. Lance gives off major cinnamon roll vibes until he doesn't. This story is a good one and if you are looking for a good balance between wholesome and fiery...this is they one you need.
The narration was off the charts good. I don't remember having heard either narrator in the past but they are both now on my go-to list. I devoured this audio in a day and it was no hardship with such good narration. Each brought such great emotional and flare to their perspective characters and it made listening such a pleasant experience.

✨🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧✨
🎙️Narrated by Heather Firth & Jeremy York🎙️
This was my very first book by this author so I wasn't sure what to expect but this story was amazing!
I laughed so many times while listening, between the narrators really capturing the essence of the characters and the words given to Skylar and Lance by the author there was definitely no conflict for me when it came to giving this audio release five ⭐.
Now I just have to find time to read and or listen to all the connecting stories. If you believe every great love story needs laughter then your going to want to listen to this one.

Terrific Story & Narration🎧Riveting & Bawdy!
This is an entertaining romantic comedy, my first RomCom/RaunchCom, so I did not know what to expect so consider me impressed. I enjoyed the book immensely, the story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. I also enjoyed AK Landon’s writing style, her witty dialogue and back-and-forth banter was hilarious. Sure, some of the naughtiness had my eyes rolling, like who does that or says that, well these characters sure did and wow, they sure are characters. The book starts out with Skylar Lawrence’s break up and heartbreak, one she had a hard time getting over. Her first step to moving on, is having a steamy encounter with a someone she just met, a good looking and very polite man she met at a party. Lance grew up on a farm, but had big city plans, and received an opportunity to attend grad school in the city, and his aunt hooked him up with a job. Wanting different things in life, he and his girlfriend broke up and he was not looking to hook up with anyone, but it happened at the party his aunt invited him to. It was a night to remember, and it turns out the women he had the steamy encounter with works for a rival company and they are both battling for the same contract. He can not get her out of mind, but Skylar won’t give him the time of day since they are rivals. But there are plenty of meddling friends, co-workers and family members who intervene in their favor. I enjoyed how everything played out for these two, it is a wonderfully plotted story with the perfect balance of drama, humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. I loved how special Skylar’s relationship was with her dad and how it played in with her new relationship. There were some interesting twists with the exes, too. AK Landon, thank you for this great story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧 📚🎧 Heather Firth and Jeremy York were the perfect cast to bring these characters and story to life. They had a complete understanding of the character they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting and was believable in every role. Both nailed it as the lead characters, grasping every side of their personality and they were just as amazing performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture all the characters’ emotions and have you feeling them all. They set the perfect tone for the story, handled the banter and witty dialogue with ease, landing the humor effortlessly. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances this story even more. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
