Summary
From USA Today best-selling author A. Zavarelli comes an angsty forbidden romance about second chances, forgiveness, and a love that conquers all.
Before the world knew me as a rock god, I was just the angry boy who stole her heart.
She was a good girl.
The forbidden fruit I wasn’t meant to taste.
Our stars were crossed, and fate had doomed us from the start.
She was promised to someone else.
I had her secret smiles.
Moments stolen in dark corners.
But I couldn’t have her future.
Destiny tore us apart, and all that remained was the ghost of her memory.
When she died, I did too.
But when I catch a glimpse of her five years later, alive and well, that love turns to hate as the bitter truth emerges.
She left me.
She lied.
And now, I’m going to make her pay.
This book is a standalone dark romance about a military veteran turned rock star hero and the girl who stole his heart and never let it go.

*Suspenseful*Intense*Emotional*
Contempt is the third audiobook on the Sin City Salvation series (but is a complete standalone story) by A Zavarelli.
A second chance, forbidden love, suspenseful story, told in both the present day and in flashbacks, more and more of the layers and depth of this story are revealed the further you go. This is an intense novel, with plenty of pain, betrayal and anguish, and ultimately redemption for the main characters.
At the beginning of this story, we meet an angry and confused Kodiak, who comes across Lyric - someone from his past - but she has no memories of their relationship. While dark in places, I was gripped by this audiobook. The more I listened to the story, the more tension I felt. There are quite a number of revelations in this novel that added to the drama and ultimately made the ending feel so much sweeter.
A thoroughly engaging and entertaining audiobook, that is unpredictable and absorbing, I absolutely loved it. The narrators were amazing too!

Intense and captivating
The story revolves around Madden and Bianca, whose star-crossed love story is filled with heartbreak, second chances, and redemption. Zavarelli skillfully weaves together past and present narratives, creating a deeply dimensional and emotionally rich tale. The romance between the characters is both toxic and healing, with chemistry that is soulful and combustible. The story blends romantic suspense with a complicated plot, and the pacing, although slower in the beginning, picks up momentum in the second half. The dark themes and well-executed twists keep readers engaged until the end. I recommend this for fans of romantic suspense and second-chance romances seeking a captivating and emotionally immersive experience. The audiobook narrated by Stefanie Kay and James Anderson Foster, is amazing! Stefanie perfectly captures Bianca's emotions, and James brings Madden to life with his intense performance. Their voices draw you into the story, making it even more compelling. The chemistry between the narrators enhances the dual perspectives, and the emotions really come through. If you're into audiobooks, give this one a listen—it's a fantastic experience that immerses you in the captivating journey of the characters.

Mesmerizing & Emotional~Brilliant Story & Listen🎧
A. Zavarelli never ceases to amaze me with her impressive writing style and ability to create stories that are not only mesmerizing but ones that go straight to my heart. Once I started this book, nothing else mattered except what was going to happen next. The complexity and layers of the story are phenomenal, as are the world building and character growth and development. I went into this book blind, knowing A. Zavarelli wrote it was enough to know it was going to be amazing, and I am glad I did, because it is a romance like no other and she takes you are an emotional rollercoaster ride like no other. Madden “Kodiak” Keller is the black sheep of the family and never did anything right, his half-brother, Adam, is all that matters in his family, popular amongst his peers and the apple of his step-father’s eye. Deemed as troubled, Madden’s family sent him away and that was where he met Bianca, a girl whose family felt she needed therapy. The two bonded while there, but she left early and him, like everyone else in his life. But call it fate, call it his screwed up life, but that is not the last he sees of Bianca, she is Adam’s girlfriend. Except she still claims to want him and not Adam, but refuses to leave Adam putting Madden thru the wringer. He finally had enough and enlisted and when he comes back, he comes back as a wounded and broken man, both physically and mentally. Bianca is still with Adam, and still wants Madden, but not is all as it appears and her life is a mess or maybe she is the mess. I loved how everything played out in this book, also lost the unique telling of the story, alternating from present and past, giving you a glimpse of what went on that lead them to where they are in the present. Madden is a murder suspect and authorities believe he may have murdered Bianca too, but they have not found yet a body. Madden never gave up on finding her, and years later he thinks his mind is playing tricks on him when he sees her. At least he thinks it is her, but she does not know him or Bianca. Was she for real or was she playing him? This whirlwind of a story wowed me completely, the plotting is fantastic, and it kept me on my toes, guessing what really happened and who was behind it. The story has plenty of drama, angst, mystery, thrilling and suspenseful moment, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. A. Zavarelli, thank you for this exceptional story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, A. Zavarelli chose the perfect cast to bring her characters andante story to life. Stefanie Kay and James Anderson Foster are superbly talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They did a wonderful job portraying these characters, giving each a voice that suited their persona and was believable in every role they played, from the lead characters to the secondary characters. hey set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhanced an already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another exceptional listen.

So good
"Contempt" by A. Zavarelli is a gripping and intense dark romance novel that takes readers on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
The story follows the journey of Bianca and Kodiak, two individuals who are drawn to each other despite their troubled pasts and dangerous present circumstances.
The author seamlessly alternates between past and present scenes, allowing readers to gain a deeper understanding of the characters' motivations and the events that have shaped their lives. The result is a story that is both complex and deeply moving.
Another strength of the novel is the author's ability to create a vivid and immersive setting. The author doesn't shy away from the darker elements of this world, especially in the beginning when Bianca and Kodiak are “reunited”. I loved the connection between Bianca and Kodiak, they are two star crossed souls meant to be together even when life and family members have other plans. I honestly was grossed out by his brother’s behaviour and while I’m a huge fan of thrillers and am used to these disturbing settings, I really didn’t think he was so vile. But it all makes sense in the big picture.
Overall, "Contempt" is a well-written and engaging dark romance novel that is sure to satisfy fans of the genre. While the story does contain some difficult themes and subject matter, the emotional payoff is more than worth it. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a thrilling and intense romance novel

Breathtaking Second Chance Romance!
This is the second book in the addictive Sin City Salvation Series. I loved the first two books in the series, and this one is amazing. Madden and Bianca's story is grippingly well written, complex, and captivating. They are both enigmatic characters. Their past is dark, and intriguing. The storyline is enthralling, intense, and emotional, filled with mystery, secrets, danger, angst, and twists and turns. The back and forth past to present is well done, and easy to follow. The supporting characters are great, and I loved to see again the characters from the first book in the series. This is a breathtaking second chance romance. Stefanie Kay and James Anderson Foster did an excellent job bringing this story to life. They are perfect as Madden and Bianca. I enjoyed it. I HIGHLY recommend this series.

Twist and Angst
The unexpected twists and turns kept me on the edge of the seat and had me guessing what was coming the entire time. This second chance romance was filled with drama, tragedy and pain. Madden and Bianca were infuriating at times, but I wanted them to have their well-deserved HEA.
The audiobook was on the longer side as the story was told in dual POV with a mixture of present and past timelines. I felt some of the flashbacks dragged the story a little as they didn't add much to the momentum of the story arc.
Stefanie Kay and James Anderson Foster did an excellent job in bringing the story to live.

Wow mind and heart blown away!
This author knows how to tear away my heart in little pieces and shows me how to put it back together again and this book did just that!
I went in blind to this series because I’m a total audiobook junkie and I’m working my way through so many audiobooks that I sometimes need to stop and look around at all the books out there by favourite authors of mine, like A. Zavarelli and now I’m going to go get the other books in the series.
Audiobooks take a book to the next level with the perfect choice of narrators and the acting by both Stephanie Kay and James Anderson Foster really made this story come to life.
It gripped my heart hearing all that happened. There’s a back and forth between the past and the present that has three points of view. Madden’s journey was heartbreaking and the fact that he’s made a great life for himself even while trying to find her was incredible. The her is Bianca, and also Lyric. This author has a way of writing that keeps a person so engaged with the story that it’s easy to forget about everything happening around you as you follow along.
The passion, the devastation, the hopefulness reaches inside you and pulls at your heart. Just wow!
Beautifully done girl! Amazing.

This was a lot more intense than I was expecting it to be. It's told in past/present timeline and despite all the angst the connection between the two main characters is undeniable. Its passionate and quite the rollercoaster. Totally worth every minute and the audio is A1.

WOW!!! I can't let it go!
Do I even need to say how good this book is? As usual, A Zavarelli knows how to capture my attention and keep it, and this riveting book had my ears burning, my eyes tearing and every emotion running through me! Meet Madden. He has had a tough time of it, the child who is second best, never living up to his brother, Adam. He meets Bianca and the two are destined to be together. That is until she is gone and the next time the meet up, she is his brother's fiance! How does it happen? Well, I am not going to say, but I will put out there that Bianca and Madden still had the magic, and it's hard to understand why she stays with Adam. To say the least, these to are on a path to destruction! But does it come to that? Madden makes some decisions and several years later, when he does see Bianca, everything has changed. Will his love surpass the dark feelings he has harbored? Will she help him with his life? Talk about a psychological thriller! Zavarelli packs so many layers into this story, masterfully weaving the past and the present to understand just how things got to be where they are. And the outcome is not what I expected! The best kind of listen--twisted, dark, unpredictable romance! You will love it!
James Anderson Foster is the perfect fit as Madden. What a dark, growly man he creates. In one breath, he oozes his pain and hate, and the next, the caring and warm man finds his way out. Stefanie Kay gives us the confused and frustrated Bianca, leading her through the mass of emotions she has. Together these two gave all the psychological thrills, the dark and delicious spice and the true bonding of soulmates. It's a fantastic narration!
