About this listen
Discover proven ways to take back control of your life and improve your relationships by conquering your anxiety.
Anxiety by itself is not a bad thing–it signals our body’s fight or flight response. But if you go through trauma or other stressful events in your life, anxiety can grow into a monster that overtakes every aspect of your life.
This includes your ability to communicate effectively, which affects your relationships, leading to less happiness; you get the picture.
Consider the following scenario:
Jane has a job interview for a company she would love to work for coming up. She knows that she is perfect for the job and is more than qualified. However, her anxiety is causing her to second-guess herself and her ability to interview well.
At night, she lies awake thinking about everything that could go wrong. What if they ask me a question, and I stumble for an answer, making them think I am illiterate? Are they going to challenge my knowledge of the company? Should I be researching them right now?
When the time comes, Jane’s anxiety has overtaken her ability to reason, and she believes she does not have the skills to communicate effectively during the interview. So she calls and says she will not be able to make it because she is sick, causing her to lose out on an opportunity that would have benefited her career in many ways.
Jane’s story is not unique, as she is not alone in her anxiety. There are over 40 million adults who have an anxiety disorder in the United States alone.
The good news, though, is there are proven ways to conquer your anxiety and stop it from affecting the different areas of your life.
In this book, you will discover:
- A detailed look into anxiety disorders, including their causes, symptoms, and lasting effects
- Tips on how to recognize when good anxiety has turned into bad anxiety
- How overthinking and negative self-talk are cognitive distortions that need to be rewired in your brain and how to do just that
- Ways to recognize and understand different triggers of anxiety so that you are better able to handle your anxiety when the time comes
- Eight different breathing exercises to do to calm your mind and ground yourself, and one breathing exercise to do with your partner for a stronger connection
- How food plays a role in anxiety
- The benefits of spirituality in controlling anxiety including different exercises to use in your daily life
- Nine DBT techniques to fight anxiety and improve your stress levels
- And so much more..
When you are in the middle of an anxiety attack, it can feel overwhelming, causing you to lash out, shut down, or both.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Your life and your relationships don’t have to suffer due to anxiety.
By following the guidelines in this book, you can and will have a calmer mind and life.

GREAT BOOK!
This is a great book it really explains how anxiety work and gives you steps on how to manage your anxiety. It also gives you examples of things that you might do that prove you may have anxiety. For example I learned that last year I had anxiety and I didn't even know but this book proved I did I had anxiety because I had allowed myself to get burned out. I also just learned that my son has separation anxiety so I will definitely look therapy for him. But if I didn't listen to this book now I probably therapy for my son wouldn't have cross my mind. So I'm glad this I read this now. Great Book! Highly recommend it!

Save your relationship!
Unfortunately, I saw in my group many relationships going in a very bad way due to a lack of communication.
As soon as we move together with my partner obviously it is an amazing thing but there are some days when we are just full of stress and don't want o talk to each other but if we don't do it just makes us even more upset and anxious and at the end, both of us exploding and arguing each other... This book helped us with many different kinds of techniques and methods to improve our communication skills and be more comfortable at home and talk out ourselves to each other in a good way. This helped to save our relationship and be a better couple and team together.
A must-book to listen to couples who don't want to go to therapy but wants to improve their communication with each other. Definitely recommended content!

Super helpful book
Anxiety is such a complex and often unpredictable thing, it can be really hard trying to keep on top of it even remotely. However, I've learned so much from this book. I never knew some anxiety can be sometimes considered good, and this gave me a much needed different perspective. I also really enjoyed the breathing exercises suggested in the book and found them super helpful.

Great audiobook!
This audiobook has some great techniques to overcome anxiety and to understand what it really is. Anxiety is perfectly normal but let it affect your mind and body on a constant basis isn't healthy and it's not what you want to experience to remain healthy in the long term. Not bottling up emotions and maintaining healthy relationships is fundamental to reduce anxiety and to become a happier person. Great book!

A wonderful audible
I've always suffered with anxiety and I used to use alcohol to control it in social situations. This audible was great at letting me know how to control it and provided great structure and it was well narrated. The must chapter for anyone is how to stop overthinking. This chapter has changed my life already and has given me a new lease of life. Highly recommended.

A Vital Tool In These Stressful Times!
One of the most optimistic books on Anxiety that I have come across!! A round of applause for the author Rebecca Golden and the narrator, Meryl Goldsmith, for having done such a fantastic job on this topic. The author gives more than 13 techniques for dealing with anxiety.
Here are a few things that I liked about the book:
- It is written positively and shows how without fearing anxiety, one can overcome it by following the steps.
- Explains the actual function of anxiety and how it comes to our rescue and that it is not the monster it is made out of nowadays.
- How to use our anxiety to our benefit.
- The cognitive & dialectical behavioral therapies and their techniques are explained in depth.
- How to use spirituality and our five senses to relax.
- Last but not least, the author explains how to keep an anxiety journal guide which is a vital tool for dealing with anxiety.
The list of positives is long, and if you are dealing with anxiety, this book is for you!
