Summary

A sweeping small-town romance about love, loss, and a Montana legacy from USA Today bestselling author Devney Perry.

I met West Haven when I was eight years old. He taught me to play poker when I was nine, and we made paper airplanes together when I was eleven. He kissed me when I was sixteen. He was the best part about my family’s summer vacations to Montana. He was the boy who stole my heart. I was twenty-three when life ripped us apart.

Years later, I’m breaking my vow and returning to the ranch, not as a guest but its new owner. West might want me gone, but even he has to admit the only way to save his family’s legacy is with my help.

It’s not easy working side by side and facing those old memories. But this situation is only temporary. We’re at a crossroads. And as long as I don’t let myself fall in love with West Haven again, maybe this is our chance to put those ghosts to rest. Maybe this time we’ll finally be able to say goodbye.

Devney Perry does it again!

EVERYTHING about this book is brilliant! Indya and West’s story had me swooning and crying and I loved how the book moved from the present to the past, building up the plot and their relationship. Every book Devney Perry has written has got a five star review from me; I fall in love with the locations she creates and I can’t wait to see where this series goes. The narration was perfect too. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed this book

This was my first Devney Perry book. It won’t be my last. Such a lovely story. And the narrators were fantastic especially Samantha Brentmoor. So much feeling put into the performance my chest ached a points until I was sobbing at the end as my heart breaked for Indya. Looking forward to the next instalment at Haven River Ranch.

Narrators were perfection!

I didn't want the book to end, it was incredible! I loved West and Indya. It was a heartbreakingly beautiful story and made me ball like a baby in parts. I can't wait for Jax's story!

Beautiful Lovestory

This is a wonderful beginning to Perry's new series. It tells Indya's and West's story, childhood friends and lovers coming back together at Haven River Ranch. A wonderful story and at times an absolute tear-jerker.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I did not expect to get that emotional!

I love Devney’s books, but this one I went in mostly blind and I’m so glad I did. The love story between West and Indy is so heartfelt, they were so intricately linked by an invisible thread. They always went back to each other. The plot line with the families was brilliant, I didn’t expect to feel as emotional as I did over Indy’s dad.
Fantastic listen. Great story, brilliant narrators who did it so much justice ❤️

Brilliant

Such a beautiful story and loved how well the timeline change was written, it was so easy and clear the flash backs and her dad! My heart! Can’t wait to read more. Total perfection

Entertaining listen

Indya is returning to the struggling ranch she spent Summer vactions at as a kid only this time she is the new owner hoping to turn it around. The boy she fell in love with and gave her firsts too over those summers West isn't going to be happy about this new development considering it's his families ranch and he has no idea his dad sold the place. This is a second chance-ish romance that is told through a mix of present day and flashback chapters from both MCs POV's. The flashback chapters were short and sweet but helped build some of the foundation for Indya and West's present day relationship to make sense, although there still wasn't enough of a connection built in the present day timeline for their relationship to feel real for me.

This was a quick, low angst, small town romance which is what I was looking for coming off the back of an absolute heart wrenching read earlier in the week. I needed/wanted something easygoing and this delivered that, I found it an enjoyable read, it held my attention, I liked both MCs and knowing that book 2 in this series is going to be an accidental pregnancy book I will definitely be adding it to my tbr as I'm a sucker for that trope when done well so fingers crossed it is. I've read majority of Devney Perry's backlog at this point and although there are definitely books of hers I've enjoyed more this is a solid read in my opinion. 🌶🌶
