About this listen
Dexter Morgan isn't exactly the kind of man you'd bring home to your mum. At heart he's the perfect gentleman: He has a shy girlfriend and seems to lead a quiet, normal life bordering on the mundane. Despite the fact that he can't stand the sight of blood, he works as a blood-spatter analyst for the Miami police.
But Dexter also has a secret hobby: He is an accomplished serial killer. So far he's killed 36 people and has never been caught because he knows exactly how to hide the evidence. And while that may lead some people to assume he's not such a nice guy, he tempers his insatiable hunger for brutality by killing only the bad guys.
However, Dexter's well-organised life is suddenly disrupted when a second, much more visible serial killer appears in Miami. Intrigued that the other killer favours a style similar to his own, Dexter soon realises that the mysterious new arrival is not simply invading his turf but offering him a direct invitation to come out and play....

Brilliant Dexter
Such a unique witty dark story. I watched the TV series first and I enjoyed both very much. I love the humour the author puts into his Dexter books

disturbing
disturbing but still wanted to know how it finished. I thought it was a bit predictable, I never saw the TV series, and do not think I would listen to another one any time soon. The narrator/writer was very good.

The tv series does it better
Don’t get me wrong the story is great and the characters are there but the series does a better job of fleshing out the characters and giving then all a personality.
Angel barely says anything and Brian is barely in it. The tv series introduction of Brian did it better with him slowly inserting himself in dexters life through Deborah compared to what happens in the book.
Still well worth listening to it as the inner monologue if dexter is worth it by itself

I very much enjoyed this audiobook!
If you’ve watched the series then be prepared for a few differences!
But I think the book is better!

The original Dexter.
The difference and similarities compared to the the TV series made it an interesting listen. I will be buying the rest of the books in the series.

Different
Enjoyed the differences between this and the show, having watched the show first. There's definite major differences from the book and the show which doesn't bother me but might annoy some.
