Summary
A family torn apart. A sadistic warlord with a taste for torture. What lengths will a desperate mother go to protect the people she loves?
When their helicopter is shot down in the Alaskan wilderness, Li Yuan and Eugene are captured by a sadistic warlord. They are taken to an arena, where they will be forced to fight plaguers in gladiator-style events. Eugene won’t stand a chance in the arena. In an effort to keep him alive, Li Yuan strikes a perilous bargain with the warlord.
In the chaos of the helicopter crash, Aston manages to escape. Desperate to save his captured family, he sets out on foot to free them from the warlord’s vicious sport. Will Aston arrive in time to save them, or will Li Yuan be forced to sacrifice herself to protect her family?
Dead Pit is the third book of the high-octane Afterworld Apocalypse series. If you like the gripping tension of The Hunger Games and the undead action of I Am Legend, you won’t want to miss this next installment of Afterworld Apocalypse.

Things just got a little chillier
(4 and 1/2 stars) I found this book hard to put down. The group have reached Alaska and things just got a little chillier. Expect suspense, adventure and thrills in the third instalment of this series. The narrator did a great job bringing the story to life, but because the speech was a bit fast at times, I listened to this book at a slightly slower speed.
Like books one and two, book three also ends on a cliffhanger. I recommend that readers who dislike cliffhangers wait until all of the books are released before starting this series.
