About this listen
A relaxing getaway. A rocky romance. And a dead body. Will life ever be normal?
All Georgia Rae Winston wants is a little vacation from her unsettled love life. Some time at her friend Laura’s lake house. At first? Perfect. Until a day on the water ends with Georgia discovering a dead body in the lake. And she can’t stop herself from poking around.
She soon learns the dead man’s in-laws didn’t like him much. And the gossip around town says he’s been having an affair. Suspect. Motive. Simple case, right?
But as Georgia digs further, she uncovers an even deeper web of deceit that will rock the town if the truth comes out. And there’s no way that’s not going to happen if Georgia has anything to do with it.
In book five of the Georgia Rae Winston Mystery series, Marissa Shrock once again spins a tale of intrigue, mystery, and a splash of romance that will twist your mind into pretzels and keep you up late into the night.

Don't hide this book away just listen
I enjoyed this book. This is the second book in this series that I have listened to and found entertaining.. Yes I know it is book five but having missed the others I can say that you don't need to read or listen to them in order to enjoy. That doesn't mean that I won't be adding the rest to my collection because I will. I liked the main character Georgia Rae Winston and the rest of quirky characters who at times were amusing. Of course there was a love interest (triangle) that you would expect from any good cozy mystery but it didn't detract from the mystery at all. The mystery its self was interesting and kept me guessing, with all the twist on the plot I never saw the reason why until it was revealed. The writing was well done and captivating, even a round of golf sounded fun. I love it when women get one over domineering men but I even came to like him by the end of the book.
Georgia Rae needs a holiday, a chance to think about what she wants out of her relationship with her boyfriend, so she goes to visit her friend Laura’s lake house. Before she can do more than dip her big toe in the water she finds a body. It's not long after the body is identified, that her reputation is uncovered and Laura's neighbour is asking her to investigate because she is afraid her son will be the number one suspect. Quicker than her ice cream can melt she uncovers a number of suspects all with connections to each other and boats. Can Georgia find the killer or will the killer find her? Because a lot more is going on than bad maintenance on boats and family ties.
I like the narrator. She has a pleasant voice that she uses well to give each character there own unique voice.
