About this listen
US Marshal Bishop Jones has known heartache unlike someone his age should. After losing his only parent, he’s found himself completely and utterly alone, with only his dog for company. Working long hours and being new to the area doesn’t give many opportunities for him to get out and meet someone.
Veterinarian Xander Garrison has devoted his life to four-legged critters. Between his vet clinic and the animal shelter he helps his mother run, he doesn’t have a lot of free time. But the lonely nights are getting longer, and he wants more than just a warm body from the latest hookup. He wants a partner and lover he can count on.
There is an obvious attraction between the two men, but the animosity Xander has toward Bishop is stronger than a rawhide bone. But when Bishop needs Xander’s help with a case, Xander sees a new side of the deputy and wonders if he was too quick to judge.
Can their attraction disarm the locks around their hearts? After all, destiny and one tiny little furball have something else in mind.
Disarming My Destiny is the fifth book in the Sulfur Springs series. This is a Men of Crooked Bend spin-off, but it isn’t a requirement that you listen to that series to enjoy this one. Familiar faces will be encountered, but this series takes you off of the ranch and into the lives of those in Sulfur Springs. While each book will focus on a different couple, you should listen to them in order.
Warning: This book contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over 18.

as great as the ebook
The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.
The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Michael Dean is one of the 8 narrators (so far), I can listen without break and have no problems to follow. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.
PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!
To my ratings:
5* - very very good
it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A
3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Deputy Hunk and the Vet!
Beautiful story of a young man, left with no family and a dog he can’t take care of all the time. Cute Oreo gives him the best opportunity to land a suspicious Veterinarian. Xander is much older but caught his eye from the beginning. A seemingly impossible romance turns into a scorching one with a nice happy ending. Loved it!

The Marshal and the Veterinarian
I've really enjoyed this Sulfur Springs series so far and Michael Dean (Michael Pauley) is one of my all-time favourite narrators. He doesn't disappoint with this wonderful performance as the guys work though their case...US Marshal Bishop with his work partner team up with other agents. Xander works at his vet practice and helps out at his mother's animal shelter part-time. He and the Marshal are clearly attracted but both very busy with their work so that doesn't leave them much time for dating or fun, but they end up finding a way. Xander also helps Bishop with a case involving stolen horses. Highly recommended Contemporary Action-adventure MM Romance.

Absolutely enjoyable
I really enjoyed this book. Rylan’s ability to keep the reader engaged is lovely. The story between Bishop and Xander is a great verbal barb/sparring pure hate-on is enjoyable and fun that keeps Dean’s acting talents sharp. Worth a listen to!

Loving these books
Finally Bishop gets his story, and we find out about his back story. He's not what we all thought, that's all I'm saying.
Xander who's rude, blunt and wrong has a lot of apologising to do.
Great book, great story, narration is always great. Recommend you all read this series.

Well these guys definately disarmed me.
This is the second one I have listened to in this series. Although I must admit they are no 3 and no 5.
I do intend to listen to them all
So this is the story of Bishop a US Marshal and Xander the local vet.
Bishop was a US Marine but after 3 terms he quits and becomes a US Marshal. He is posted to Wyoming far away from his Dad in Texas.
When he gets a call to go to see his Dad he finds his Dad packing to go into a care facilty after being diagnosed with Alzheimers.
Bishop flys down to see him whenever he can and has to take custody of Oreo his Dad's Havanese dog.
When his dad dies, Bishop as to put Oreo in doggy day care while he's at work
Xander however thinks he is a bad doggy parent and has no qualms telling him so.
However Bishhop needs his help in binging horse thieves to justice.
I loved how these two sniped at each other all the while circling each other.
Xander annoyed me a little at first but he really grew on me. Bishop, I fell in love with from the first few words.
I think Taylor Rylan will be on my TBR list from now on.
Narrated by Michael Dean (Pauley). I will never get tired of listening to this man.

Great addition to Sulfur Springs Series
There hasn’t been a bad book in this series and Disarming My Destiny has been a great addition to the series of Sulfur Springs.
The slow burn between US Marshall Bishop Jones and Veterinarian Xander Garrison was romantic and sweet despite the rocky start to their relationship.
All the books in the Sulfur Springs series can be read/listened to as stand alone but to get the most out of them and to understand the dynamics of the characters I do recommend you listen to them in order.
