A great book and Audiobook on the Greatest Chess Player who ever lived.
Also well read by Ray Porter.
A must read for anyone interested in the game of chess.

Think chess is boring, not your thing? think again
WOW WHAT A BOOK!!! Who knew that chess could be this fascinating, this intriguing, this messed up? Certainly not me. I believe that everyone and their woman and even their dog needs to listen to this book, EVEN you weeksey
Simply a must be listened to book. One minute you feel sorry for Fischer, the very next second you despise him. Talk about a man who has his finger permanently hovering over the self destruct button. A true story of a true genius and lets face it, we geniuses really must stick together

I don't like chess I like this book..
I am not a chess fan, I don't follow chess, I don't even play chess however I love biographies on interesting people and Bobby Fischer is a really interesting person, troubled but brilliant, this book covers his rise to fame and is actually really interesting.. if you like interesting people download it

This is a fantastic book for chess and non-chess players alike (also see Frank Brady's original book, Profile of a Prodigy, although Fischer had not "gone off the rails" by that stage, he was merely obsessive and eccentric!).
The only question mark in my mind is sourcing. I may be wrong but I think Frank Brady, like so many people in Fischer's life, "fell out" with him so how accurate is all of this bearing in mind Fischer was so secretive?
Nonetheless I thoroughly recommend it.

Great book for non-chess people too
I knew virtually nothing at all about chess or Bobby Fischer before buying this book, but it has been an absolute joy. The book is very accessible for people who have no knowledge of chess at all. The book was very well written, extremely captivating at times and has made me want to pick up chess. The reading performance was great as well.
Highly recommended!
