About this listen

Centuries ago, there was a beauty who did not live happily ever after. She fled her vampire Ottoman prince, who now rules the Primati supernatural on Earth with his half brother, Alaric, the terrifying Enforcer. The runaway beauty's only living descendant, 17-year-old Stella Avery, is juggling the care of her ailing grandfather with the discovery that life is not what it seems in Portland, Oregon. Stella’s Romany family shadows her every move, and she discovers that an ancient enemy wants her dead. Her best friend, Amanda, reveals herself to be an actual witch, and Stella must uncover the truth about the curse that has killed every woman in her family before their 21st birthday - or suffer the same fate.

For Alaric, his role as Primati Enforcer means utter loyalty to his brother. Half-angel, half-demon, he has no place in his heart for a mortal. Feared in his own right, Alaric finds himself torn between the law he has protected for hundreds of years and a young girl who cannot be loved without bringing about her own death.

Enchanting...

Enchanting!
I loved reading the physical book so had to listen when I saw the audio version. Jennifer Sterling's narration is beautiful, she really enticing you into the story...perfect!

Everwish, the first book in The Primati Witches is the debut novel from Amelia Oz, a new writer with lots of promise for the future.

From the first chapter, you are ensnared in the intricate storyline, a rework of the Sleeping Beauty fairytale. But don't be mislead, there is so much more on offer from this re-telling of a classic. Packed with Vampires and Witches, Everwish will delight and encapture fans of urban fantasy. Set to a backdrop of Portland, Oregon, it brings depth to the senses pulling you in from the first page.

Beautifully crafted, although Everwish is the first offering from this author, it is polished and slick, showing its creators confidence in her genre and ability to give what the reader craves; with supreme world-building and a great cast, all carving herself a place for future books. The dialogue is believable, giving depth and reality to its characters - something that can often feel a little stilted and formulated from someone new to the craft.

This would sit comfortably with confidence alongside bestsellers in the contemporary urban fantasy genre—a must for readers who can't resist delving into the world of witches and vampires.

I look forward to the rest of the series and seeing what else immerges from this new author's creative mind—a delight.
