About this listen

"I still have the dreams, baby. Do you?

In mine, I plead and wait for your touch to come like it always did.

But it never does.

I strain against the iron, but you're no longer there in the shadows.

I'm alone.

One single shard of deep dark hope was enough back then.

Not now.

My claws, your fangs have sunk deep.

Follow my trail of blood, my trail of anger, desolation.

Am I the same man?

Soul dark,

Heart dense,

Blood fierce,

Purpose raw.

Flame burning.

Unrelenting.

Brewed on vengeance, laced with tenderness, my fury for you."

Chained in brutal darkness, they fell in love. Free in the world, they were torn apart. Empires rise, empires fall, and still, she burns in his soul. But between them now runs a wild river of ambition, greed, and blood. So much blood. He'll do anything for revenge, and she'll do anything to protect him.

Love and vengeance are the same kind of savage....

Contains mature themes.

Beautiful

It's rare I listen to an audio book twice but, this one is the exception. I only bothered reading "Fury" because I wanted to know the "secret" mentioned in "Blood and Rust"; and I'm so glad I did. In truth I had become bored with the other books in this series, as they would start off about life in a MC and rapidly deteriorate into a Mills and Boon type story with graphic sex scenes. This one however, was everything I thought the others would be. It's tense, it's brutal, it's heartbreaking and yet it's beautiful.

Serena and Justin's story had me crying ugly. What they went through together was horrific and a hard read/listen. Finger and Lenore are so beautifully written I found myself rooting for the both of them right from the beginning. I wanted both of them to find love and happiness. They go through so much I didn't care whether they found a HEA with each other or someone-else, as long as they found it. When Lenore eventually let us know her secret I cried like a little girl. I understood her decision and admired her doing what she did. Her decision was heartbreaking for both of them and although I had a great deal of sympathy for Finger; Lenore did the right thing.

I understood (and liked) Tanya more in Fury than I did in her story (Blood and Rust). It also made sense to me why Lenore gifted her a fancy corset in "Blood and Rust". She really was a wonderful, loyal friend to Serena and Finger. I loved reading the infamous visit to Tingles from Finger's pov and I laughed again when he made a big deal about kissing Tanya in front of all the "Jacks" (especially Butler). I also understood why she kept Lenore's secret from Finger and again as heartbreaking as it was for him, it was important that no-one knew (including him.)

This book is less syrupy than previous books in this series, and Lenore's independence is more believable than the other "heroines." The "real" baddies are terrifying and their brand of justice for righting wrongs is brutal. Some scenes in this story were so gory I had to stop listening but, I carried on because given the world they're in the violent retribution is understandable.

This audio book is a love story about two lost souls who repeatedly lose and find each other at the wrong time. It's heartbreaking in places but, well worth the read. This is a story where the reader should prepare to go through a roller-coaster of emotions before reaching the bitter-sweet yet beautiful ending.

brilliant

this is an excellent book and while it can be read as a stand alone, I highly recommend starting with 'lock and key' and follow the series through to get to this book. many of the characters from this series are featured in this book and it just gives the book such a deeper meaning and a level of understanding that I'm not sure you'd get without the other books.
this book is excellent, as too is the narration, highly enjoyable.

Epic, brutal, emotional - Loved it

I've been listening to the audio version of this fabulous book and I can honestly say Aiden Snow has the sexiest voice I've ever heard. His voice coupled with the descriptions and depth of detail gave me a perfect image of Finger and boy was he hot 🔥Noelle Bridges as Serena/Lenore was excellent too.
This is an epic story (and it is a long book) of two people meant for each other, but where the dangers and violence of life kept them apart for far too long. This was probably the one thing that frustrated me, they were apart for most of the book. However, their individual stories defined and shaped them, all the ends coming together in an emotional, revealing, twisting, heartfelt conclusion. I did love this book and the way it intertwined with the other major characters from the series (DigForever....but GimmeFinger 💞). I haven't read books 3 or 4 but it didn't matter, I look forward to reading those even more now I've had hints of what happens.

Beautifully written, Cat Porter doesn't hold back on the darkest sides of MC life and I'm glad (it does get pretty brutal at times). This story couldn't be half hearted and it absolutely wasn't. 4.5 stars

What an Epic!

Wow! What a story. I was hooked from the start. At 21hrs long it was impossible for me to listen all in one go and I may have nodded off for a couple of hours of the book, but it didn’t matter. It was still great. Narration was good, though the female’s male voice was a little too high and reedy, so sometimes it was a little confusing as to who was supposed to be speaking. However, the story was that good, that after about 10hrs or so, you got used to it. Male narrator’s voice SAF.
