About this listen
I didn't expect to see her again. I didn't expect to want her the way that I do.
I didn't expect to peel back all of her perfectly controlled layers. Or for her to see through mine.
Emma f--king Winchester.
She's the little sister of my ex-best friend, Forrest. She's off limits like tempting forbidden fruit, and I'm the snake slithering through the grass.
She ignites a fire in me. One I can't explain. One I sure as f--k can't control. It's raw and primal.
She's sweet, and I am not.
She's pure, and I'm broken.
When I came back to the town and past I'd left behind 10 years ago to make it big in the world of underground fighting - it was for one reason, and one reason only. To take care of my Grandma Rose, and I'll do it by any means necessary. Even if it means doing the one thing I said I'd never do.

So So Good
Emma was the little sister of Dean's former best friend, she would follow them around and being the annoying little brat. She used to have a huge crush on Dean when she was an awkward teen with braces. Now that they are both are grown up 10 years later Emma is just what Dean needs to get I the straight and narrow. They kept their new relationship a secret because of her brother Forrest will never approve. Love this secret romance and Logan McAllister did an awesome job narrating

The Start to an AWESOME Series!!!
This is my 1st time listening to one of Alyne Hart's books and I love her style of telling the story.
You have Dean and Forrest, best friends, for like forever it seems. They're now Seniors in High School and something goes terribly wrong, the friendship has ended. Dean was a common fixture around the house. Dean was like another son. Now his name can't be mentioned anywhere in the house.
Now you Emma, the little sister of Forrest. All the time Forrest and Dean had been best friends, she has had the biggest crush on Dean; really big.
The ending of the friendship causes Dean to leave Evansville County, "Had he done anything wrong to Forrest that warrant his cold shoulder and ending the friendship?
Ten years has past and a lot has happened to both families. Dean's back and he doesn't want Forrest to know. He runs into Emma, the all grown up Emma and he wants her.
With Dean's return we learn what brought him back. We'll learn the truth on why they're friendship really ended. Also, learn that he has some really deep, deep, s*** that he's dealing with inside himself, that he can jeopardize what he could possibly have with Emma.
Will Emma risk everything to have a relationship with Dean knowing how her brother feels about him? Will her love for him be enough to keep all of it from the brother that she loves very deeply, who has been there for her. You will get a lot of questions answer and maybe two people can come together and build something.
I really enjoy this book and I look forward to books two, three and four, because I feel like the author really got off to a really, really good start with book 1 and let's not forget about the narrator because the author cannot do it all by themself and that would be Logan McAllister. Logan, this is my first time hearing you and I think you did a fine job in your narration of this book. I gave you both five stars, wish I could give you more.

The boxer and the ballerina!!
Emma and Dean were so sweet. I enjoyed listening to the combo of Alyne Hart and Locan McAllister. Her words, and his voice just made this story really enjoyable for me. Getting to know Emma and Dean was fun. Their story was lot of fun to follow. I hope to see the characters again.

Good Book
I love second chance romances. Even though they were never together when they were younger, Emma had a childhood crush on Dean. Dean had some issues to deal with and Emma is perfect for him. Their chemistry is off the charts. This is a good book.

Great!
I received this audiobook free of charge in return for an honest review.
A boxer romance with a brother’s best friend/childhood crush genre…two of my favourite types! Alyne Hart definitely doesn’t disappoint with characters like Dean and Emma.
Emma has always had a crush on Dean ever since they were young. He was her brother’s best friend and the school bad boy. After an argument with her brother, Dean left town, now he’s back and is finally starting to notice Emma.
THE GOOD STUFF
This story is very well set. After the first chapter or so you know exactly what’s going on without it having to go into too much detail. I like the settings of the farm, boxing gym and diner, giving familiar surroundings for the reader.
The characters are really easy to like, Emma is a strong-willed character who has given up her dreams to pull her weight in her family and Dean is a bad boy with a great personality. I wanted the two of them to get together from the start and loved the little moments that they shared.
The storyline was gripping throughout and very interesting. I’ve listened to a few stories where Logan McAlister is the narrator and I do like his style.
NOT MY CUP OF TEA
I feel that a bit more could of actually happened in this book. Although it was very interesting there could have been that extra push near the end that made it more exciting. It didn’t completely need it however as I still really enjoyed it.
OVERALL RATING
I really enjoyed this story. It left a little opening for Emma’s brother’s story maybe…?
I’d definitely read it if that was the case!
