Hard going at first
I found this a bit of a hard listen to at the start but it was worth sticking with it as the book got really good and fits in nicely with the rest.
For information if you want these 29 books in order of galaxy’s edge history, then this is book 4 (2 and 9 not written yet) and they keep getting better and better.

What a bombshell at the end
Absolutely loved it. Yes found myself rooting for the gods ironically and it was great to hear some of their back story.
Looking forward to the next book. Starting it straight away

slightly better than the first,
the second half was better and because of that and I have already purchased it I will listen to the 3rd Book. However if it goes into any more simulations then I will shut it off. Far from the best I ve listen to.

A book of 2 halves
Gods is the first half and I did not like it at all, I consider listening to that time I wasted.
Legionnaires is better but to be honest very formulaic and with nothing new, that said the very end of the book was surprising and should lead into part 3 well

Better than the first!
I was on the edge after the first book and decided not to continue the series.
Got this on sale and gave it a try.
Great concept and execution, showing the 2 sides of the conflict from the point of view of each.
I almost felt for the savages (the gods) but the subtle insanity and wrongness of their system was always there in the background.
It is something I have not experienced before and find it quite brilliant.
For this alone I would recommend listening to the previous book and this one.
And the way Rex is portrayed is almost balancing, the savages more relatable and Rex closer to a monster.
Will check out the next one for sure!

Too little legion
Half the book tells the story of a savage marine based on a ready player one like universe, not really what I like the series for. Second half is amazing.

Story of 2 Parts. Pt 1 is awful , Pt 2 is Good
Hated the first part, could barely stay awake but loved the 2nd part. Not sure if each author took a part each, if I knew which did pt 1which I would put him on the never again list.
Stephen Lang, a great actor and a great narrator did fine work bringing the novel to life.
