Is Scott Blade aka Lee Child?

From the first chapter it was as if the main character was telling us he was Jack Reachers son, that Reacher didnt know about. And then had an adventure that was like a clone of Reacher.

Having said that, it is still a good story. I shall look for others by this author. :)

Worth a listen but…

I enjoyed the book but it felt like a cheap knock off of a Reacher novel. Widow is a great character. The archetypal “Batman”. The overall plot is good but the pace is slow and frustrating at times with too much dialogue and rumination. A few glaring inconsistencies also frustrated. Enjoyable nonetheless.

Thriller

First off I have to say Alan Phillip Ormond voice is perfect for this brilliant thriller. Very smooth and easy to listen to .

This is the first book in this great series. Jack Widow , is an NCIS agent , who has ben under cover many times. He has to go home , as his mother, who is a sheriff and has now been shoot. Reaching her in time to say goodbye and make peace .

But now wanting to know who shot his mother, who was looking into missing girls...

This book is set at a lovely pace, with characters who you enjoy and feel as if you know.

Does he get his man...... with his training , I think you know the answer. You will enjoy the ride.

Loved this book

Jack Widow or Jack Reacher

Jack Widow is a good character, however if I was Lee Child I would be pretty peed off. Widow is almost a replica of Reacher. Both drifters, both big guys, both former military cops, both carry a toothbrush and passport and both right wrongs.

Jack Reacher he is not

Greet story great performance but I kept thinking this was a rejected Lee Childs novel too many similarities to Reacher no stand out moment it was a slog to get through but will read second novel to give him the benefit of the doubt.

A reasonable listen - another Reacher clone

It is read well and is easy to listen to. Overall I enjoyed listening to the book however it does not try to hide the fact that Jack Widow is an attempt to clone Jack Reacher. There are some interesting twists in the story but there were just too many convenient coincidences that keep Jack Widow alive to make it sufficiently credible.

Slow to get going, but it does pick up.

Very similar to 'Jack Reacher' series. Main difference being 'Widow' at this point only seems to stumble across trouble. It does seem to be description heavy at times, when really you just want the story to get going. It can feel at times that the description is to pad it out. I am going to listen to the next book and see how they pays out.
