Summary
An original full-length novel set in the Halo universe and based on the New York Times best-selling video game series!
Molly Patel was only seven years old when the alien alliance known as the Covenant destroyed her homeworld and killed her family. As one of the few to escape the glassing of Paris IV, and despite the United Nations Space Command winning the war on behalf of humanity, Molly never forgot how much she had lost.
Nine years later, when her adoptive parents - research scientists specializing in ancient Forerunner technology - are called to the mysterious and wondrous place known as Onyx, Molly vehemently objects. It's not so much that Molly's concerned about relocating to inside a spherical construct the diameter of an entire solar system but the fact that she also has to live alongside members of the same alien species that murdered her family. And when the Servants of the Abiding Truth - a violent ex-Covenant sect under the guidance of the notorious Pale Blade - somehow makes its way inside this supposedly impregnable sphere, Molly is now forced to consider if she and her new parents have made a terrible and fatal mistake in coming here....

A very interesting new perspective to the Halo universe
Honestly I was surprised by the direction took in the story but it was a pleasant surprise all the same .
Again Scott Bricks performance was phenomenal as always breathing life in to all the characters with respect and brilliance.
And Matt Forebeck creating new and interesting ways to look at the halo universe adding significant flavour to an already beloved franchise.
Phenomenal work as always :)

A great return to Onyx and Civillian perspectives.
This book is a great listen. One of the first halo books with a good sense of humour that puts u following children as they try to get along with each other in multi-species school. With interesting lore into the Guardians from halo 5 this book has got something for everyone, especially after the death of Jul'Mdama in halo 5.

a superb book, from the view point of a teenage girl who is coming to terms with the events of the war and it's aftermath, a story from a view that i didn't know i wanted but loved it, it's relatable as well

Amazing
An amazing continuation of the Halo narrative through the events of Halo 5, including the stories of Spartans Tom and Lucy and the Servants of the Abiding Truth. An uplifting look at the lives of civilians from both UNSC and Covenant following the end of the war.

Nice tie in
Really fun to hear about familiar things from the games but in a total different setting. The book give the the perspective of the every day citizens of the galaxy in their day to day lives and The challanges and problems they face. We can't all be Spartans now can we?
Narrator Scott Brick is brilliant as usual!
