Summary

If you were free from fear, who would you have the freedom to be? Number one New York Times best-selling author Gabrielle Bernstein charts a path to heal trauma, unlearn fear, and remember love.

What if you could wake up every day without anxiety? View your past with purpose, not regret? Live happy, peaceful, and free from fear? You can - and Gabrielle Bernstein will show you the way.

Gabby has long been loved by her listeners as a spiritual teacher, motivational speaker, and catalyst for profound inner change. Her new book presents her most powerful teaching yet: a plan for transforming the pain of your past, whatever that may be, into newfound strength and freedom.

You’ll learn:

  • Why most people feel stuck in patterns that make them unhappy - and what to do about it
  • Nine transformational, yet untapped, techniques for serenity and genuine happiness - from techniques for “reparenting” yourself to bodywork practices for freeing the stuck energy of past trauma
  • The mindset shift that can do more for you than decades of personal work
  • How to go into the places that scare you - and come away freer than ever before

“This book is my gift to you,” Gabby writes. “It will answer your questions about why you feel blocked, scared, anxious, depressed, or alone, and it will liberate you from the belief system that has kept you small for so long.... By taking this path you will become the best version of yourself. You will become new.”

A great book but....

The first few chapters were great. I felt like Gabby was a friend with me in the room speaking to me. I kept saying me too! as I listened to the audio. The chapters I have listened to so far helped me reflect on my traumatic experiences.

However, I feel like she had a bad editor. There are loads of ramblings, repetitions and going no-where paragraphs. I also guess I am not as spiritual as the author and the story of the blue butterfly was a turn off. She asked for a sign from the Spirit in the form of a blue butterfly. Later that day, she saw stickers of blue butterflies on a Jeep. If you are spiritual or religious, the book might be for you.

Pure honesty filled with helpful insights for all!

This book has literally fallen in my lap at just the right time to help me on my journey to freedom.

It is full of open, honest vulnerability that is so relatable. The tools Gabby provides to guide through the myriad of caught up emotions we all have are beautiful, accessible and freeing.

I am already implementing some of the guidance and feeling the connection from it. Its awesome!

Thank you 😊

There is so much love in this book 💜

Gabby teaches us how to reparent ourselves, honour our emotions and soothe the inner child in all of us that has been pushed down and neglected. Time to get our feelings out of the box and honour them 💕

Thanks Gabby - you rock!

A game changer

Wow I feel like I know Gabby, even though our stories are so different, I can relate so much to her. After listening to this book and taking it all in, I’m now going to go back and re listen and do all the practises she has written in this book. It’s made me realise I have so many past traumas I need to heal that I didn’t even realise affected my present and how to honour my protectors and acknowledge the reason they are there. Thank you so much Gabby.

Brill listen I repeated and repeated

I loved this. Uplifting and inspiring. Learning sought shame, that we all have we are not alone with it was an ahah moment. Gabby's story based on her own experience and how she coped with it. A brave and strong woman. Also her voice helped me feel she was in the room with me.Thank you Gabby. All the best with your life.

Healing is privileged

When I started reading this book I was very hopeful but as I continued to read it, it was obvious this book was for those who can afford to build a team of therapist and practitioners that can set her up for healing success. I feel Gabby Is out of touch with a good portion of people who can not afford the level of treatment she received. This is a big problem to address when it comes to healing ourselves. Her free resources are a few meditations which she herself say is powerful but won’t do much if you have a “chemical imbalance”. She also pushes her resource page which is to encourage you to buy her happy days bundle for more support. While her intentions for this book are pure, it’s not a reality for so many people who lost their jobs and can’t afford high quality therapist and practitioners. This book did not deliver.

Very Introductory & Basic

Sadly I preordered both the audiobook and hard copy. I
loved Universe Haw Your Back and Super Attractor and found value in Judgement Detox. This one was a major disappointment. There was nothing new and I felt like I could’ve explained therapeutic modalities like EMDR better than the author. If you follow Gabby, you’ve probably already heard her story so that part wasn’t new either. If you are new to Gabby or new to self-development, I would definitely recommend. If you’ve read a lot of books and/or follow her, don’t her you

Absolutely amazing!!

I love everything about this book. I’m sending to everyone I know. It’s real. It’s authentic. It’s mind blowing. I cried with deep resonance and gratitude for actual techniques (scientific and spiritual) that I know will actually help me. Get the book people. Our whole society will be better for it.

This is the book I have been looking for!

I am listening to this book on audible- I have been browsing lots of self help books. When listening to this I I said to myself- this is the one! This is what I am looking for and ready for and need. I am looking for healing and this book is guiding me through this process. Really didn’t think this book would apply to me but it absolutely does. Thank you for this!

Not her best work

Repetitive, self-centred and kist like a bunch of ideas put together for the sake of "writing a book". Quite disappointing really. Another thing that annoyed me is that even she teaches forms of meditation- you have to pay extra for the material- no pdf with info or instructions accompanying your book.
