Queen Mortuana of the Night Realm (McKinnon) and her ditsy raven minion JoJo (Lynne) receive a prophecy about a peasant uprising. Together, they must journey to find the “Shard of Acquiescence”, which will put down the rebellion and save the throne. Will their friendship survive sensitive generals, chatty sex slaves, whiny behemoths, princes with bird fetishes, and the notion of democracy?

Great!
I truly enjoyed this audiobook! I loved voice acting, special effects and somehow story (it is not great, but you have to Manage your expectations with audio drama comedies). Oh, and songs and ads are funny as well!

Very funny in parts.
Really enjoyed listening to this. Great performance from the cast. let's hope there are more to come from the two sisters

A surprise find
Quite enjoyed this story overall,
It made the journey back and fore to work go much quicker.

Recommend if free wouldn’t buy it though
This is not as funny as I expected a few chuckle’s here and there but no real laugh’s also not sure why there’s a running virgin joke throughout at the beginning and end of every episode that never really lands but the performances are solid the cast don’t sound like that half arsed it and it’s very good production value would

Uproariously funny!
Unputdownable, it was just so funny and engrossing! This audio comedy is told like a fairy tale, in a medieval setting, but with lots of anachronisms, so nitpickers steer clear. The story follows Queen Mortuana and her raven sidekick Jojo (there is way more to her than meets the eye), as they try to quell the Queendom’s subjects’ rebellion by every means possible. You will gleefully root for the bad guys. If you're bored and/or need cheering up, this is for you. Co-creators Kate McKinnon and Emily Lynne, and the rest of the cast (including Meryl Streep, Tim Gunn and Peter Dinklage, amongst others) all deliver brilliant performances and are complemented by great sound effects and music. There is a rap song so amusing in an episode, I had to make a clip of it so I could learn and then sing along to it... This Original Podcast made me look forward to commuting to and from work! It got me some weird looks when I unexpectedly laughed out loud in a train carriage, though...
