Story
The Layers is the debut novel from Stephen Reynolds, exploring how our identity is shaped by our relationships. The anonymous protagonist recounts his life story, showing us how the people he has loved - his parents, sister, grandfather, best friend, and partner - have all helped to form who he is. He is a different version of himself with each loved one, versions which combine to make up a whole person. However, as the book goes on and the protagonist starts to lose grip of people around him, he begins to wonder who he really is without them.

Now, with an empty nest and a crippling case of agoraphobia, the once-fun hobby has become her lifeline. Summary
During the course of her neglected and abusive childhood, Wendy dreamed of a warm and bright haven of peace, far removed from her dreary, often painful surroundings. Even as she lived through the domestic violence and indifference of her parents and then fell victim to a sexual predator, she held on to her vision of happiness, love, and fulfilment. Slowly, as she grew into womanhood, she set about turning her vision into reality.
This is the story of how she overcame a dysfunctional family, the nightmare of emotional and sexual abuse, loneliness and destructive relationships, to build the life of her dreams. It is a testament to the power of visualisation and indomitable hope to conquer even the worst of circumstances. But it also shows how positive meaning can be drawn from even the most soul-destroying experiences.
It is a story of unstoppable love, grace, positivity, and even humour in the face of daunting obstacles and fears. By relating how one abused and broken girl raised herself to be a successful and self-confident woman, the story will inspire and encourage listeners of all genders and cultural backgrounds to rise above their demons and realise their own unlimited power to build the life they choose.

Truly inspirational, a ‘must listen’ The power of positivity triumphs over adversity!
OMG, this emotional rollercoaster of a read is both horrific and inspiring at the same time. The authors journey through life would be enough to break the toughest of people many times over, how she has managed to remain so positive, pure and strong is inspirational. Turning trauma and betrayal around to become a fabulous mother and simply amazing human being is a life lesson for everyone. A truly empowering and motivational read! 10/10
