Clear, relatable and essential listening
I didn’t really expect a book on narcissism to be quite so enjoyable..which would normally worry me but, thankfully, I know better after reading this book!
There are so many aspects to narcissism and there was something in the way this book is written and narrated that makes it accessible, so much so that is it hard not to listen to it all in one go. It is particularly good at helping to identify narcissism and the chapters on communication and healing were two of my favorite (it can be lived with if you know how to deal with it) and the last chapter on saying goodbye is essential listening. Can highly recommend to those with an interest, have experience or are experiencing this.

Gives strength to deal with such people
In today's competitive world, we are surrounded by so many people who are self-centered. They destroy the peace of others to satisfy their own selves and resultantly the other person suffers. This book is ideal for all those who have faced such attitudes of others and are not getting over. Infact, I believe that we all should listen to it in order to strengthen ourselves against narcissist people.

Into The Mind & Under The Skin of a Narcissist!
An absolutely amazing almanac of narcissistic & codependent behavior. What made me to get this book was the 'User Guide to Cure Codependency in 45 days' mentioned on the cover, and I have to say, it does work! I found that the author Helen Shepherd is very passionate about this subject matter and has really done a great job of delving into the deep corners of a narcissist's mind and also shines a light on the disguised destructiveness of codependent relationship. This book is God sent for individuals enduring their partner's narcissistic or codependent behavior and not being aware of it. I had to read some chapters many times till the true essence of what the author wants to convey sunk into my mind, only then I was able to apply it effectively. Take a bow Ms. Shepherd, and a big thank you from me. The narration of Catherine O'Connor is wonderful and fully compliments the author's intelligent content. Highly recommended for people who are or who feel they could be in a narcissistic or codependent relationship.

Incredibly helpful!
I got this book first of all to understand what narcissism is and if I am right to be concerned about my friend.
The way the author has described in detail every aspect of a narcissistic personality and how a person in a relationship with them can help them is extremely helpful.
I've suspected my friend and her partner of being in such a relationship but I've not said anything and I won't say anything, but now that I have the information and the advice from this book, I know how I would be able to help my friend if and when she talks to me about it.
I really liked chapter 5 which has the guide to communicating with a narcissist.
The author has talked about options of, if you can then try and work on your relationship with a narcissist however, it is ok for you make the decision to leave if you have reached the end of the road with this person..choose you!
I think if you are going to learn anything then learn from a professional. As the author is an experienced marriage and relationship therapist, I feel I can trust her advice.

An eye opener...
Having grown up with a narcissist father, only after reading this book was I able to truly and deeply understand the whys and hows of this extremely difficult personality trait. It was a journey back to the years of my youth, finally shining some light on it...
The author skilfully delves into the intricacies of the issue of narcissism, and studies it in depth. The book is indispensable for those of us who are affected and deeply hurt by a narcissist in our life, but does give practical strategies on how to understand and break the cycle. Painful and difficult, but there is a way out.
I would highly recommend it to anyone just starting on this journey, you might need to listen to it many times before certain messages start to sink in.
Great execution and a wonderful narrator, on the technical side. Solid 5 stars!

Informative
I've read a few books on narcissism but this one is the best so far.It approachs the causes from a deeper perspective and doesn't use cheap web based reasearch to reinforce what you already suspected.
