About this listen
From the highly successful author of Lightning Boys and Lightning Boys 2, Richard Pike, comes a welcome addition to the Boys series, Hunter Boys. A fascinating insight into the experiences and affections of those who flew the iconic Hawker Hunter. Fifteen aircrew relate their individual recollections of the highs and lows, the dramas and demands of this incredible aircraft, which came into service in July 1951 and changed the future of fighter development. Including a chapter by Neville Duke, Hawker Aircraft’s chief test pilot, other tales recount the Aden emergency, the 1971 Indo/Pakistan war and a race against the odds in Gibraltar.
All instances demonstrate the exceptional performance of this aircraft and illustrate its well-renowned lengthy service life with the RAF and internationally. The scope, style and pace of the writing in this book will appeal to the general listener as well as to the enthusiast.

Interesting book but not enough about flying Hunters
Roger Davis is fantastic as ever here, in all of the ‘boys’ books he does an excellent job of making you feel like it’s the authors themselves telling the story. The stories themselves left a bit to be desired though. Wonderfully interesting stories about flying, but not really about flying the Hunter in half of the cases, just about people who did fly the Hunter at one point or another. Still wonderful to listen to and very interesting, but not up to the normal ‘Boys’ series standards in terms of focus. A shame for such a wonderful, interesting, and my personal favourite, aircraft.

RUBBISH -- ALMOST NO HAWKER HUNTERS
Total misrepresentation. Should have been called "A Collection of RAF Stories with, VERY OCCASIONAL, brief mention of the Hawker Hunter". A huge disappointment after the excellent Vulcan Boys, Victor Boys, Valiant Boys, and Buccanneer Boys.
