All four series of the hilarious historical sitcom set just before and during the American Revolution. Baltimore, 1770, and shopkeeper Samuel Oliphant has much to worry about. Storm clouds are gathering, business is bad and to make matters worse, he’s been forced to play host to two British soldiers. Hapless officer Captain Brimshaw is decent enough, but his fellow redcoat - the one-eyed, one-eared, one-armed and one-legged Sergeant McGurk - is a shameless rascal obsessed with money and sex.

Story
The Emperor Domitian has informers everywhere; no-one is safe. He rules Rome with a rod of iron, and he is dangerously unstable and paranoid. In the snake pit of Imperial Rome, all Pliny the Younger wants to do is get his letters ready for publication. Except if he, his mother, their Greek cook Doris (who narrowly missed out on becoming the next Oracle at Delphi), and Venta, their slave with secretarial skills, have any chance of surveying, they are going to have to negotiate a political minefield, keep their eyes peeled for spies and, most of all, not do anything to annoy the Emperor.

The story so far: unfortunately, Burrows, the leader of the colony, has died on the voyage, so his number two, Brian (Nicholas Lyndhurst), is now in charge. He's a nice enough chap but no alpha male, and his desire to sort things out with a nice friendly meeting infuriates the colony's chief physician, Lillian (Vicki Pepperdine), who'd really rather everyone was walking round in tight colour-coded tunics and saluting each other. She's also in charge of Project Adam, the plan to conceive and give birth to the first colony-born baby.

Summary
Set during World War Two, Hut 33 follows the adventures of a team of codebreakers at Bletchley Park as they work tirelessly to break German codes, matching wits with the fabled Enigma Machine. Unfortunately, they hate each other.
Archie is a stroppy Geordie socialist revolutionary while Professor Charles Gardner is a toffee-nosed snob. In theory, the immensely stupid 3rd Lt. Joshua Featherstonhaugh-Marshall is in charge of the hut, but he is still struggling with even the most basic concepts, such as his name. They are joined by child prodigy Gordon and the silent Winstanley. There's also Mrs Best, the lascivious landlady, and the hut's Polish secretary, Minka, the only competent member of the team - although her answers to everything usually involve violence.
Starring Tom Goodman-Hill as Archie, Robert Bathurst as Professor Charles Gardner, Alex MacQueen as 3rd Lt. Joshua Featherstonhaugh-Marshall, Fergus Craig as Gordon, Lill Roughley as Mrs Best, and Olivia Colman as Minka.
Produced by Adam Bromley.

I really enjoyed this series. Great writing and wonderful performances - especially Olivia Colman.
It's not Cabin Pressure (but then again - nothing's THAT good,) but it's the same kind of thing, with consistent characters bouncing off of each other each episode.

Extremely Funn
James Cary has created a wonderfully funny comedy in this radio classic. Once started its hard not to stop listening to each episode as the characters and storylines are so embracing. Olivia Colman (Minka) and Lill Roughley (Mrs Best) play some great characters and have a tremendous range of accents...superb! I also cant believe that Hugh Grant is not the well spoken Charles as every episode you actually believe its him being the well spoken professor. Josh, Archie and Gordon are great characters too and together the whole cast really immerse you into WW2 Bletchley Park. Hut 33 thoroughly enjoyed and hard to put down. Fantastic and well recommended

original and best thing to come from UK in years
I spent my first ten years growing up in the UK. My family has always enjoyed British humor and the familiar themes of Fawlty, Porridge, Dad's Army, etc. I have enjoyed them in the past, but for a few years now they'd grown stale for me. Hut 33 brought back to me just how good Brit humor can be in a nice fresh way. lots to like in the characters - my fave a psychopathic Pole - strongly recommended

Milk snorted out of my nose
I am a sucker for anything with Olivia Colmen, so of course I got this. Hut 33 is about a group of people during WWII who are suppose to be cracking codes, but other things happen. Like class warfare, the visit of a royal, or even air raids. The acting is great, the lines wonderful. Do not drink while listening.
