Summary
All seven series of Andy Hamilton's fiendishly funny award-winning comedy set in Hell.
Welcome to Hell—where nobody can ever quite catch the barman's eye. In this collection, which contains all seven series of Old Harry's Game, get ready for some wicked one-liners and scorching satire.
Satan is fed up after a millennia in charge of Hell, especially given the prospect of an eternity still running the damned place. Although he does enjoy playing pranks on the world of the living and devising wry torments for the souls in his keeping, he often wistfully recalls his past as an archangel...
Over the course of the series, we meet various famous figures now languishing in Hell, including a foul-mouthed Jane Austen, a mindless Helen of Troy and a less-than-heroic Samson. Satan takes Hell resident Thomas on a tour of his life, his assistant Scumspawn has trouble with a pushy computer, and love drives The Professor to extreme action. Satan and The Professor find a huge, empty space in Hell (when they enter Scumspawn's brain), a Health and Safety officer notes that the lighting is inadequate, and Satan punishes a feng shui expert. And then Edith arrives...
Seven series of the Sony Award-winning comedy (plus the Christmas and Olympic specials) starring Andy Hamilton as Satan and a regular cast of acclaimed actors including Annette Crosbie as Edith, Timothy West as God, James Grout as The Professor, Jimmy Mulville as Thomas and Robert Duncan as Scumspawn.

Waited so long for this!
I waited so long for this complete edition of Old Harry’s Game and finally it is mine bwooarhaha!! (Evil laugh)
I love this it’s a great satire about hell and all the problems Satan has trying to inflict misery on the sinners (basically everyone).
The characters are well thought out and funny as are the performances by the actors who play them. If you want a laugh that’s sinful in its mockery of dogma then give it a go, it’s delicious! Just watch out for Jane Austen, she’s a vicious cow ha ha ha!!

a devilishly delightful trip down memory lane
now I remember listening to this at bath time as a child yes my parents did let me listen to some really weird things as a 7 and 8 year old and I just remember lying back with little tea lights around the bath yes I really was that pretentious lol and lying back with special bubble bath and the hot chocolate and laughing my head off and Andy Hamilton Satan became one of my favourite characters of all time sadly going to university and work I never caught the later Later series as often as I would like so I can't comment on them but I've just listened to the first few episodes again for the first time in a long time and they still marvellous the contemporary references might be by a little flat for anyone under 30 but the context still makes the jokes land every time I'm there is a fabulous elevated quality to the writing you have the superficial sarcasm but underpinning it all is actually a very complex and sad Satan brilliantly performed by his creator Andy Hamilton and while I will always love scum spawn but Gary the demon was just such a brilliant foil to his demonic overlord and it was wonderful to revisit it I became a writer and the teacher of writing and listening to this again I can totally see the influencers on both my writing style and my sense of humour

Comic Genius at Work… in Hell!
Every episode of this series is a work of Art. The cast is unfailingly brilliant: the utterly repulsive Thomas, the unfailingly subservient Scumspawn, the Intellectual Duellists The Professor and Edith, and the Misunderstood Master of Hell himself, Satan.
A word of praise too for the “Ensemble actors” slipping with ease from one supporting character to another. The storylines are devilishly hilarious and the dialogue is inspired.
Andy Hamilton is a Comic Genius.

Andy Hamilton is amazing.
I just loved this. The silliness, the philosophical debates, the humanity. I laughed outloud, guffawed and grinned expensively walking through the city listening to it.
