About this listen
1984 was not supposed to be an instruction manual….
The residents of households across the country carry on their day-to-day lives oblivious to thousands of internet voyeurs constantly watching them within the privacy of their own homes.
Talented Met Police detective, Jenny Price, frustrated by her over-promoted boss's inexperience, takes charge of a murder investigation following the brutal killing of a beautiful young cellist, lured to a bogus audition. Baffled by how the killer knew his victim’s innermost desires, Jenny is contacted by expert security consultant Brody Taylor, who suspects the answer lies in a highly secure website that broadcasts live feeds from hacked webcams.
Working together, can Brody and Jenny find a way to bring down the site and track down the killer before he strikes again? As they begin to make progress, Jenny senses there is much more to Brody than meets the eye. With her boss on the lookout for any misstep, should Jenny continue to rely on the charming but mysterious security consultant?
While dramatically illustrating the dangers of our current reliance on surveillance technology, Invasion of Privacy is first and foremost a cleverly plotted, fast-paced thriller with great characters, suspense and twists galore.

Great story based in tech world
This is a great story with lots of plot twists and suspenseful moments. I suspect it will be most attractive to listeners with a tech background/understanding, but that isn’t necessary as the relevant tech elements are all well explained. It is also a message for our times - we are all aware of omnipresent CCTV, but this highlights the dangers of the vulnerabilities that we are not aware of - and need to be. I’m going to change my Audible password ...

Worth a listen
Story well written and tech stuff well explained. Not sure about the narrator though. Not bad,but I found the accents and different voices a bit distracting. Perhaps it would have been helped by being done as a multi performer narration.
