Summary

Brought to you by Its Majesty’s Government. Greatest Britain: For a Global Universe.

Agent Isaac Steele has problems. He spends all his splibs on drink and drugs. He has some deep-seated and very much unresolved issues with his parents. And his robotic partner at Greatest Britain’s Department of Clarification, Dr Timothy Stephens, is ruled more by his heart than his hard drive.

But all these issues take a back seat when Isaac stumbles upon a case involving the most sensitive information in the cosmos - a Never File, inaccessible to all except those with the highest clearance. He is expressly forbidden to involve himself. So naturally he does.

So begins an investigation that will take him across the Discovered Universe, into the path of the mysterious Forever Man, and eventually to answers about his past. Along the way, he will have to contend with aliens, robots, monsters, bureaucrats and, perhaps most deadly of all, his own numerous flaws.

Written and narrated by BAFTA award winner Daniel Rigby (Eric and Ernie, Flowers, Black Mirror), not since The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy have listeners been offered such a joyful, anarchic and insightful universe.

More of this please!

Refreshingly different, enjoyable, humorous and someone finally got sound effects, music and character voices right.

An absurd twist on the future and other worlds. Half way through and hoping we get to hear more!

I need more of this in my life

Simply brilliant, from start to finish, I'm already on my third listen. The combination of sound effects with great writing and fantastic humour..... Chestnut.

Amazing

This is the book I've been looking for!
'The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy' has always been my absolute favorite book, but I'd never managed to come across anything that would stir me in the same way again. That was until I found this gem on Audible.
I would say that stylistically it's a brilliant mix between The Black Mirror and Hitchhiker's guide. This book does something that few authors succeed at -- it combines humor and silliness with serious, tragic, topics in a perfect way. So I laughed my butt off, while simultaneously being stressed out and genuinely caring about the characters. It even managed to add something a little extra on top, and that is a bit of sweet romance. My heart is content. But now I'm hooked.

One of my faves so far

Really enjoyed this one, quick and a bit snarky with some dark dark undertones. Hopefully, we'll hear the next instalment soon!

Isaac Steele is my new hero

I absolutely loved this! usually I'm not a fan of audio books with sounds added but this was one of the best, I found the volume difference wasn't extreme and the story and characters.. well they're just fantastic! the first book in a long time to make me burst out laughing. I seriously cannot wait for any and all sequels.

Isaac Steele and the Forever Man

Douglas Adams meets George Orwell meets Lewis Carrol. Great book. Unique. True Science Fiction. I recommend it.

humour at first, leading into intrigue

I laughed out loud multiple times to this book in the first half, gets a bit more serious(only a bit) towards the end. Strongly recommended as a send up of the sci-fi genre. Looking forward to the sequel.

Funny, gripping, adventurous, thought provoking!

Honestly so fantastic. I was properly hooked from the very start. A brilliant and funny space adventure.

If you like Hitchhikers Guide you’ll enjoy this. It isn’t trying to be Hitchhikers Guide, it just has a similar tone that I think is really hard for authors to nail and Rigby absolutely nailed it. He has managed to strike a balance between adventure and comedy and has done it perfectly, whilst also immersing you in a wonderfully rich and diverse universe.

One of my favourite books in a long time.
