Summary

Joining us at Audible Studios is James Acaster, one of the UK's finest stand-up comedians, who has his own Netflix special, a podcast with Ed Gamble and a TV show with Josh Widdicombe. Acaster has written and recently released his second book, Perfect Sound Whatever.

In some ways, the book begins in January 2017. James Acaster wakes hung-over and alone in New York, his girlfriend having just left him. Thinking this is his rock bottom, little does James know that by the end of the year he will have befouled himself in a Los Angeles steakhouse and disrespected a pensioner on television. Luckily, there is one thing he can rely on for comfort - music.

In true Acaster fashion, this turns into a mission: to discover as much music as he can released in 2016, the year before everything went wrong (for James, at least).

We spoke to James about his iPod guy, whether or not therapy was useful to him and the sheer joy he gets from recommending music.

found it inspiring, specially for someone needing to realize sometimes from dark periods we can remerge and do something which before was thought to be impossible

Always nice to hear James talk about his likes.

As James said in this short interview, sharing likes and recommendations with other people is a blast, and it was nice to hear about James'.

laughing out loud as you listen to James

I'm a huge fan of James's stand up comedy. Well for me listening to James as he reads his own words is excellent. As you would expect James reads very well and with the same. gusto and confused knowledge of knowing but as is with James skillfully guides you along laughing and giggling and at times relisting to some intriguing story as you listen. If you enjoy any of James Acaster's work you will love this 100%worth buying I guarantee you will listen to it more than 2 times enjoy friends

Not worth anyone's time.

Pointless, pathetic, dull, stiff, rigid, boring, sad, stupid, ridiculous, clumsy, stunted, tired, mundane, tedious, lifeless.
