Summary
Every woman in Millie Delacroix's family is cursed - kind of. Birth control just doesn't work for them. Like ever. Going to the altar knocked up is pretty much a family tradition. And 24-year-old Millie refuses to let that happen to her - again. Especially now that she's responsible for raising her brothers and sister.
A life of celibacy is her best defense - at least until the kids are grown and can take care of themselves. And, really, what's 10 years with no sex? No men. No sex. No love. It's a fool-proof plan. Until she meets Luc Valencia.
The Mexican-American contractor is just trying to do his best. Since his father handed him the reins to the family business, every day is a test to prove himself. At this point in his life, professionalism has to be his top priority. At least until Millie becomes Luc's client. Even with too much on her shoulders, the feisty redhead has the power to set him off, crack him up, or bring him to his knees. All he has to do is resist falling for her through one kitchen remodel, and everything will be fine. Right?

angry man tries to touch robot's unicorn
This was bad.
The premise of the story was ok, but the female narration was like listening to a robot. Luke has clear anger management issues and really shouldn't be trusted.
There was a lot interesting topics that could have been investigated but were slated over.q
Feminine valleys and touching her unicorn give you a vibe of the awful and unexpected erotica.

Great story, but....
I loved the story and the idea. The only problem is the female narrator. While the male narrator has variation and a softness to his voice, the female narrator is just flat. She has little to no intonation and sounds like a robot. Every time her chapters started, I almost wanted to jump forward to the male narrator's chapters instead

I didn’t like this at all
Narration was AWFUL but I pushed through but there was really no chemistry between the characters and I’m not going to waste any more time on poor story plus poor narration

Cute story, bad performance
The story is cute and heartwarming, but the female performance is awful. Does not sound real at all and this kept breaking the immersion for me.

Nice story, awful narration
It was hard getting into it because the female narrator was beyond terrible! She sounded like a robot! They could have picked anyone from the street and they would have done a better job!

Really enjoyable story
I enjoyed this book. Not sure I enjoyed the female narrator but the male narrator was great, but the story itself was touching and heartfelt with a good ending.

Lovely and cosy
The female narrator doing the love interest’s voice wasn’t great but I got over it soon. Ultimately, the book was super enjoyable and I loved the make narrator’s voice.

It enjoyed it, easy listen
The male narrator was brilliant, the female narrator sounds very similar to Siri.
I enjoyed the story, it was an easy listen but I probably won’t remember much of it by next week. Sometimes I found that Luc gave borderline stalker vibes. The way he spoke about her during his chapters from basically the beginning was just very intense.
A few minor spoilers…
I wish there was more exploration of Milly’s emotions surround her miscarriage and also the loss of her parents. It was very much swept aside in order to follow the romance storyline and all the characters felt quite surface level. That being said I loved the relationship between all of the siblings and the found family aspect.
