couldn't finish it
Terrible narration. Sounds like he's too close to the mic and constantly licking his teeth.

Bringing back good old memories
If you are the same age as me, 40’s , and went head first in to the rave scene, you will enjoy this title. The little wise cracks made me laugh and thinking back I did that. But Terry does talk about the dark side of the rave nights, that might shock. To most people including myself I never had any trouble just lots of love and party.

Couldn’t get past the constant breathing and lip smacking
I’m sure it’s a great book but I listen on headphones which makes the breathing so much more noticeable and the lip smacking was gross

Clubland story from the 90's
Can't help but like Terry.
Obviously worked his backside off to do what he has.
Few could have done it.
If you like this, check out John Ibrahim 'King of the Cross' for another good clubland book.

Interesting story, but pay for a narrator!
When I started the book, I thought to myself, "Oh no, I should have listened to the sample first."
It's always more authentic to get the writer narrating his or her own story, but not if they suck at it!
Once I got over that and gave it a chance, I still found myself enjoying the story and Terry's journey through the rave scene, letting go any annoyances with the narration. It takes you back if you grew up in and around those times and certainly sheds light on the darker sides of the club business, both here and abroad. I respect the fact he always seemed to have the punters best intrests at heart, so if you can get past the not so great narration, it is worth a listen.

Disappointing.
Grew up in that era, but some wild claims, Butlins in Kent? A detector that can spot drugs on someone. Not sure about that.
