great story building and plot

I enjoyed the whole world building that went on with book one and two the ups and downs of hosting villains.
the narrator's skill in delivering the story to a high level helps keep you wanting more.
i certainly hope there is work being done to further this story line in the future.

Looking forward to the next installment

The whole story was fun in a video game dungeon master POV. If it was a game I'd definitely would play it, and even listening to it made me want to wait for what will happen next. The narrator was on point as reading the AI POV as a kind of a robot, but at the same time with human characters portrayed enough emotion and character.

Can't wait for book 3, 4 etc!

Entertaining and different

This collection of the first two books was entertaining, and with it being from a Super Villain point of view who was an accounting software upgraded to AI status.

The narration was done superbly.

weird

this is like top trumps or the story inside a video game. I almost sent it back but persevered and I was ok but only ok

mediocre

Only finished this due to it being free on audible. Plotline was ponderous and flat. Narrator with no effort to try to lift the interest of the listener. Overall a very average listen.

Fun

The environment is so unreasonable that it is fun.
The writing and performance is good.
If you are prepared to ignore how silly the situation is then it is worth the listen

Rent or buy it was fun

Okay I am not sure what I just listened to but it fun and action packed. Not being sy-fi geek the whole IA is a little bit above me and I didn't really understand how Walter worked or operated but I still enjoyed it. This is two book in one but to be honest it seemed like one book made up of lots of small stories as the team tackled each new fight or situation trying to make money. It was fun having the main guys the so called badies but like most books out there end up saving the world. It seemed strange (and is something I expect more with computer games) having the characters level up after most major fights and gain a new skill set but somehow it worked. I liked the quirky characters and the author used his imagine well coming up with unique powers, who knew a bouncy ball could be so dangerous. Plenty of action kept me listening until the end. I think I preferred the second book as the team comes together more to fight one enemy as opposed to the first book where it was lots of battles against different foes.I
I liked the narrator. He made the story entertaining.

good listen

i quite liked the theme for this series. Bit of dungeon building without making it the main theme. Nicely explored the world it was in without dragging the story on too long just for the extra word count.

I quite enjoyed the performance too. This audible is a solid choice, kept me coming back for more.

lair to rent

It took me at least a quarter of the book to start enjoying lair to rent, but I must admit once in to the book a good read.

I liked it

The dungeon core-esque but it's an A.I. was an interesting take. The characters were distinct, memorable and likeable. There's of things and action going on. Praise for making it a two volume publisher pack, as the books are too short on thier own.

My only real criticism would be the stakes are ramped up and progress is made, too quickly.
This is only books one and two. How do you keep ramping up the stakes without it getting ridiculous?
I'd have happily listened to several more hours of floor clearing, tenant shenanigans and heists.

That being said, next time I have a credit spare and am in need of a book to tide me over until the various series I am following release new volumes. This series will be on the filler shortlist.
