'Life is what you make it, nothing is for free
Stand up and be counted, and be who you want to be'
'Let The Light In' Jane McDonald
Jane was planning a golden retirement with her beloved partner Ed, when a shocking cancer diagnosis changed everything. Ed was terminally ill. Jane nursed him at home until the end, on her own, with the UK in lockdown. At first she was overwhelmed, but slowly gathered strength from caring for her loved one, and now sees that it was a privilege to be there for him.
'Let The Light In', a song Jane wrote over twenty years ago during another dark time, points the way to finding a new kind of joy out of sorrow. It's a philosophy Jane has always lived by and, in this deeply personal book exploring the same themes, she reveals the lessons she's learned that have helped her grow, adapt and rise up through adversity. She looks back with candour and honesty on her experiences of heartbreak and loss, failure and burn-out. Cherishing the ring of support around her, taking the odd duvet day and keeping a sense of humour throughout, she grew stronger through each challenge, building resilience, trusting her gut, going for her goals.
Listen on and let Jane McDonald’s fabulous light into your own life.

I loved the honesty of Jane in writing this book.
I found myself nodding in agreement with lots of what Jane wrote. I will take away a posative attitude from reading this book.

Jane’s new book Let The Light In is a very emotional and honest read or listen she has been through so much in the past few years but she still stands tall and will never be pushed aside she has released 10 studio albums 1 live CD/DVD and 3 Collection CDS and numerous 4 track collection CDs and she is an out of this world live performer I have seen her so many times I have lost count and can’t wait to see her in her new 2024 tour With All My Love her other two books Follow Your Dreams and Riding The Waves were also fantastic and again very emotional and heartfelt to read but On Jane’s new book she takes you on an rollercoaster of emotions and as Jane reads the Audiobook you can hear the emotion in her voice so thank you Jane for sharing your story happy and sad Ed Your Mum And Dad will be so proud of you so come on everybody Let The Light In your life put your feet up with a cuppa and let Jane make you laugh and cry Thank you Jane 👍

Inspirational. Jane’s best book yet.
I listened to this book in just 2 nights. I couldn’t stop listening. What she says resonates so much with me. She really is inspiring. I love how she is just herself and knowing all the places she is talking about is surreal. As I am from the same neck of the woods. A must listen! x

A National Treasure
Inspiring and honest book by Jane McDonald - similar to her first book, she speaks about her husbands death in this memoir and how she is dealing with his loss. I would still recommend to read this if you’re a big fan of Jane
