utterly charming

pleasantly surprised by this well written little tale of a neurodiverse girl who finds she is indeed something special. Nice touch of mystery and mayhem and perfect for middle grade readers (and me!)

The best book I have read in a long time.

I love this book - and I’m a 44 year old.

No matter who you, what age, race, gender, no matter what is happening in your life, this book will have a way of speaking to you.

It is beautiful in its simplicity and yet speaks on so many levels, written with words and imagery that immediately relay what the author has in mind.

I will read this over and over and always find something different to hear.

As magic as oor Edinburgh

I loved that it was in Edinburgh and I know my nephew will too, I bought him the book which I’ll be advising him to read along while listening.
Such a great fun uplifting story especially for those of us who have disabilities as well as for those who are neurodivergent etc.
I wish there had been something like this when I was a kid too. We need more inclusivity in general.
I love it!

Unexpected

Not sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t this, and it wasn’t this good!
Really enjoyable fantasy adventure - think Michelle Harrison’s Widdershin sisters stories, a dash of Ross Mackenzie and a little sprinkle of peril.
Loved it!

thoroughly entertaining

young protagonist give this a middle/teen age but I enjoyed it and I am certainly neither of those ages! a lively story which I could easily see my family members characters in for a small part and I will definitely buy a copy for my 11 year ol and possibly another to hold onto for the 9 year old. Again most enjoyable.

Not for me

Way too woke for me, and didn't enjoy the breathy reading. Won't be listening to any more in the series

It’s very magical and I love it

When I asked my 6yr old if this was one of her favorites she said no it is my favorite.
She said it makes you feel happy. It’s magical.
She loves mythical creates and listens to Greek Myths so this was right up her street.

Very deep

The reason I love because it’s so deep and amazing I love Elle’s style and I kind of wish I was autistic!

Okay for teenagers

Story line was okay
Narrator has a lovely lilting voice but doesn't really bring the characters to life.
A bit too young for me, I prefer paranormal mysteries with grown up characters.
