About this listen

Real love starts with you. Loving someone else requires courage and vulnerability. And in order to create deep and authentic relationships that really go the distance, it's important to develop self-awareness and a willingness to take responsibility for your experiences. You've heard the saying, "You can't love anyone unless you love yourself first." But in the midst of life's distractions and society's myths of flawless romance, how exactly do you do that? Loving Bravely offers 20 powerful lessons to help you explore and commit to your own emotional and psychological well-being so you can be ready, resilient, and confident in love. By understanding your history and past relationships, cultivating an unshakable sense of who you are, and determining what it is you really want in a romantic partner, you'll be prepared to create the healthy, lasting love your heart truly desires.

Annoying monotone voice but nice book

To love openly and to choose to open our heart when all we want to do is revert to a strategy, like running away or being passive aggressive, is the bravest thing. I enjoyed the content of this book but I found the voice hard to listen to sometimes because it didn’t sound human. My biggest takeaway from it is that rewiring patterns from childhood is gonna be lifelong, but with each time I choose self-compassion and pause before I react, I won’t have to be stuck repeating childhood patterns forever, and the healing that will happen on the other side of being brave is worth pushing past the fear.
