About this listen

Magic is the only weapon against the gods.

A plague rages in the streets of Perizzi. Guardians rally to deal with riots while apothecarists struggle to find a cure. The cult of Akosh has been decimated, but there are many survivors in the north hungry for revenge.

Elsewhere, new alliances are formed to combat a deity who feeds on pestilence and decay. Gods, Sorcerers and Battlemages must set aside the past to work together - or risk unleashing greater suffering than they can possibly imagine....

Better and Better

The God, Kai, has released a plague into the city of Perizzi and the struggle is on to find a cure. Garvey is showing himself not to be quite what we all thought. Vargus takes Donoph under his wing and explains his origin and that he is the Weaver. His part in what is to come will be important - It is the time for all factions to come together if they are to overcome what is coming.

Loved the whole series!

Brilliant, really well written story with dark and gritty storylines and characters.
It’s not filled with action, but when it does come, it’s really well done!
Excellent narration with great pacing and tension!
Really hope there’s more to come!

A fantastic conclusion!

I've been a fan of Stephen Aryan's work since his debut, Battlemage, and find that with each novel his skill as a storyteller has grown. Now that we've reached the finale of the Age of Dread trilogy (Mageborn, Magefall, Magebane) I can safely say that he continues to impress, delivering not only a fantastic conclusion, but a hugely entertaining and compulsively readable trilogy. Matt Aldiss is the perfect narrator for these books, bringing the characters to life, and a joy to listen to. Highly recommended.

Great!

Absolute joy and all of a sudden 2nd book makes much more sense. The book has a good balance between description and actions.

Love the story not so much the end

Is it the end or not?

I don’t know didn’t feel like the end I wanted or expected in many ways after 6 books and a lot of hours I was expecting a little more.

Now don’t get me wrong I loved the story and the performance but just left me feeling a little unsatisfied
