The crazy grimness of this story made me laugh

By the end the story made me laugh from it’s crazy twist and turns but so much of it relatable to serious life issues too. I nearly decided not to listen at the beginning but narrator stopped jarring on me quite so much as I got hooked on the storyline.

Started strong and then became so unrealistic.

Story was good until the end which was disappointing, the main characters character seemed to change completely. But always a new drama which was entertaining.

What the….?

I liked this story to begin with, because I’ve been jaded by too many grisly murder thrillers. So when two close women friends end up in a pickle and are totally supportive and loving towards each other, it was sort of heartwarming ( though slightly corny at the same time…. too many cups of tea and milky coffees, etc). Even when fatal accidents in instances of self-defense happened, and subsequent coverups, you root for them. They have each other’s back, come what may.
So… without giving the plot away… when towards the end, it turns out to be all an illusion, the reader feels totally cheated.
Characters - good or bad - need to be reasonable dependable. Even when they do something totally out of character, and of course we all do when threatened or under duress, the reader needs to have grown to understand the psychological makeup of the perpetrator.
Not so in this story. I didn’t like that the writer uses that lazy ploy of just throwing everything on its head in order to create shocking drama, with no explanation or motivation to back it up. Suddenly the time and emotion invested in the story feels wasted.

The narrator was ok, but I thought the rather exaggerated Sheffield accent grated a bit, especially as it didn’t vary at all between characters.

Strange!

Great book until towards the end. I found the switch in Claudia far fetch and unrealistic. Bit disappointing really since it started off so very well

The ending was a bit of a disappointment!

Overall it was good to listen to and the characters were very personable. For me the end lacked the depth that the rest of the story had which was a shame. This is just my opinion. It’s worth a listen as a free book.

Wasn't expecting that!!

Overall, the story plot was very interesting with enough surprises to keep me entertained and was not as straightforward as I'd expected. An enjoyable listen.

Wow. Just wow.

Great thriller with an emotional sideline, although I sometimes found the characters a little frustrating, I myself have been through the health condition Claudia was going through and found it well written and showed a full understanding of Malignant Melanoma. Thank you Anita Waller for knowing your stuff. Definitely one I would recommend.

Not to bad

I thought I had guessed the end but I was wrong. A bit depressing but not a bad read
