Summary

The duke in disguise (Leo) teams up with Marguerite to investigate a conspiracy for the succession. It forces them into extreme situations, and soon she is enmeshed in kidnap, plots, affairs, and perhaps even murder. An old friend appears dressed as a groom, she meets a princess, a marquis, colludes with servants and risks her life to save another.

Her bright compassionate nature is hard to resist, as is her astounding beauty, but the duke is determined. Even if Marguerite may learn survival, but lose her heart.
