Summary

Menopause and perimenopause are a serious subject - but I think humor helps! I have laughed at myself, and my family has laughed with me and not at me when I have had certain symptoms.

You can listen to my personal and very open account of what I have been going through, and how I’ve seen humor in even the most serious symptoms. I hope if nothing else besides getting the information will make you smile.

I believe in delivering information clearly and simply yet in a relatable way and not scary. Just like Mary Poppins sang.... A spoon full of sugar (humor) helps the medicine (information about a dry subject) go down in the most delightful (easily digestible) way!

It is time we openly talk about the dreaded M. word, or Menostart, as I like to call it! Get a better understanding of your hormones, and how they contribute to menopause and your overall health.

Talk to your spouse, children, and friends about your symptoms and go see your doctor. Learn what physical symptoms you could experience and how to manage them. Discover if menopause can affect your mental health. Uncover the secrets of surviving as a couple through the menopausal years. Get clear information about taking control of your diet and fitness and follow my 12-week Menostart program which includes lots of information about key foods to eat and avoid and supplements you could try.

You will have lots of options of exercises, from a simple 15-minute walk to HIIT to everything in between! Learn about hot flashes, weight gain, exhaustion, poor sleep, vaginal dryness, and mood swings - follow the tips that have worked for me and others Menopause isn’t pleasant or sexy, and as a woman, you might spend one-third of your life going through it! It has helped me to understand the future

Luckily, I’m yet to experience the menopause. However I want to fully informed about what the future holds. While scary, it is a natural part of every women’s life. I found the audiobook was packed with useful information on the subject. It was certainly food for thought!

Exactly what doctor has ordered!

As a middle age girl, let’s face it - the time is here for me to experience the next big phase of my life as a female. Menopause is something that we never actually think or talk about until it’s reared its ugly head... I’m very grateful for this book, because it gave me so many answers to so many questions, and all in one place, alongside very useful advice on how to deal with the myriad of symptoms we are all troubled with...
The book is very well organised and narrated, the author really understands how challenging this time is for us as women and I’m extremely thankful for that!

Great for my wife

This is an awesome book that focuses on women's health. Hot flash, and surviving as a couple is a must especially if you want to stay healthy and eat healthy. This book focuses on exercises and a several more aspects of diet which are critical to healthy living. A great book.

very interesting

Got this book as my wife isn't far off the menopause, so I'm trying to get as much information about this subject as I possibly can and this book certainly done that for me , explained in detail the symptoms, physical and emotional, risks of HRT and its alternatives and a whole lot more. recommend if u want to find out about this taboo subject.

Great book for any woman

This is a great book for any woman going through the menopause. It helps with different issues that women experience during this time. The book gives many helpful suggestions and ideas about exercise and diet.

Brilliant book on the subject!

I gave this audiobook to my mum and she loved it for many reasons. It is written in a style as if a friend would be speaking to you with real examples and she felt she was not alone but compassionately understood. It is very well researched, structured and narrated. It also provides solutions and suggestions. She found it very helpful at a emotional and physical level, just all that she needed. Highly recommended!

A must read

I found the Menopause Confidential to be a very interesting read. I liked this book because it is honest, sincere, humorous and written in a relatable manner. If nothing else besides getting the vast information you recieve it will definitely make you laugh, you will enjoy this book. A must read!

Full of detail and real examples - loved it!

There is so much I just didn’t know about the menopause and this book really helped me not only in terms of understanding what is happening but why I felt the way I do and what to do about it. It also felt great to know all the little things that worry me are ok and that I am not alone. The honesty of the author made me feel like I was listening to a friend and the focus on communication was so helpful - the funny exchanges with family members the author describes were so familiar! This book is packed with detail and it covers everything I wanted to know (and lots I didn’t know I wanted to know). For me though, it was the practical steps on what to do about some of my symptoms that I loved and am trying out. So glad I have this book!

Inspirational

I bought this book for my wife and I as things have changed over the last year. The tips given in this book had the lightbulb going off over both of our heads as we listened. We thought that we were in this alone but this book helped us in so many ways. Must buy!
