Summary

Escape to the breathtaking Cornish Coast this winter, where the ocean sparkles in the moonlight and romance crackles like an open fire. This gorgeous new love story by million-selling author Holly Martin is the perfect treat to warm your heart this Christmas.

Artist Zoey Flynn hadn’t planned to spend her favourite holiday on the shores of Jewel Island, but when her fiancé breaks off their engagement before their Christmas Eve wedding, this Cornish paradise is just the distraction she needs.

With a cosy cottage to call home for a month and a stall at the island’s famous Christmas market to sell her paintings, Zoey quickly puts her heartbreak behind her. Love is the last thing on her mind. That is until the handsome Kit Lewis crosses her path....

Their connection is instant, but Zoey has a secret. And the deeper she and Kit fall for one another, the harder it is to hide. Kit knows Zoey is holding something back, and if she won’t tell him the truth she could lose him forever.

Is keeping a promise from the past worth sacrificing a future with the man she loves? Or might Kit be the one person she can trust?

Love, laughter and long-hidden secrets are waiting for you on stunning Jewel Island. For fans of Jill Mansell, Sarah Morgan and Sue Moorcroft, this is the perfect tale to curl up with this Christmas.

Lovely book, shame about the narrator.

I love Hollys books. But this is the first time listening to an audio one and I was so disappointed with the narrator, she sounds like a child and the way she pronounces some words is kind of cringy. Sadly she narrates a lot of Holly’s books and as I’m on the road a lot, audio books are easier for me but will be a while till I can get into another one

Too much sex

I thought that the idea was good although predictable.
For a lighthearted Christmas romance, I felt there was too much description of the main characters having sex and no rating like on a dvd.

Lighthearted Christmas story but…

I couldn’t get used to the narrator, she sounded very childlike and had to describe very detailed sex scenes, it just didn’t sound right!
Without the sex scenes the story was exactly what I was looking for, light hearted and easy reading/listening.
I won’t choose another book by this author/narrator.

Never disappoints!

I don't even bother reading the blurb on Holly Martin books, I know I will love them! I only check the order to read them in and that's it!

This one did not disappoint either!

I see a lot of comments about the narrator and her voice, personally I think she is great! With so many female characters in the books, I think she changes the voices brilliantly for each character!

A lovely....

storyline with some great antics from start to finish. The narrator was ok at using different voices for the characters.

Didn’t melt my heart

This book is ok, and that’s probably the best of it…. Just ok. I felt like something else was always coming but it never did! A nice Christmas romance don’t get me wrong but it lacked something I can’t put my finger on.

Awful baby-voiced narrator

While I was expecting a load of romance and Christmas clichés, this story was going overboard when the narrator's breathy baby voice shoved me well and truly over the edge. I had to abandon it an hour in, I just couldn't take any more

One of the Most Cringeworthy Books

The narrator is awful she sort of just trails off at the end of a sentence and pronces works like a 2 year old.
The story was quite good but the author had added really cringeworthy sex descriptions. Maybe a version without these could be produced?
Normally a really good author not sure why she has felt the need to jump on the cheap shock factor band wagon. It was like staying in a cheap hotel and hearing the couple next door at it, nobody wants to hear that!
All I can say about this book is eeeewwwww.

Irritatingly sugar sweet

Expected a lighthearted, happily ever after listen to while away my long commute, I’m afraid I can say nothing to recommend this book. Very unbelievable characters who were made more unbearable by the narration which sounded very childlike. Sorry, not recommended.
